Has Rockstar gone too far?

People need to stop whining about how long it will take to get these luxury items. If you get them all in the first month you're going to be left with barely anything to do.

I agree that Rockstar is milking the micro transactions. There is a simple solution. Don't buy them. If you can't play the game without buying them, find another game.

There is a reason indie games are going strong, and what the shareholders of the Rockstar corporation are doing is why.

That is a sign of a crappy framework for an MMO, and is no fault of the 'whiners'.

In SP everybody was complaining that you start with too much money. You have all the weapons from the beginning... Now in GTAO you really start as as a NOTHING and this can keep you busy and entertained for months and years...for FREE... new weapons and cars, fresh missions and tasks all the time... just play the game as it is intended and don try to "finish" it in 1 week like the singleplayer... the journey is the reward

I've got a year sub on XBL, I'm sure by then I will have got the luxury/expensive items by then. If I had it all here in the now I'd be bored by Xmas. This way I have aims/targets to last me for a long time. So no Rockstar have not gone too far. If anything they're accomodating the pissey cry babies who want everything "now now now!" by giving them the opportunity to bypass all the hard work and patience needed, of course that comes at a price and rightly so. I don't see why I should bust my balls and break my back slugging it out when people can get sh*t for free by doing nothing. So no, if you want it you pay for it or you get stuck into a good days graft instead of crying.

All I see is a kid demanding to have everything straight away.

You don't need everything right away, play the game, build up your money over time.

Or you could always ask for more pocket money so you can spend real cash in game.

At first I was gunna disagree with you because even though they do try to make it more difficult then it should be to aquire money it still isnt THAT hard to do so. I currently have about 330k and bought a bunch of sh*t already.

But its true. Rockstar has prioritized limiting money and making sure you cant exploit over fun. They even fixed the Violent Duct exploit before fixing the rest of the bugs. its kinda absurd. Alot of truth in what you're saying. And also, losing 2k when you die in free mode. Completely unnessesary and ruins the fun. Why do that, why ruin the one thing people play games for, fun? To limit your money to tempt you to buy cash cards? I dont know...

Make us work for the money, sure. The bomb farming thing was dumb. I don't like people making a million in an hour. But i think we do need access to more high paying jobs if they are going to nerf the broken farming jobs. There should be a legitimate way to make money fast without having to rely on chance.

What other bugs are you talking about? I am aware that there are other bugs, but are you certain that the same programmers and coders that worked on the VD exploit are the ones that were assigned to fix the other bugs that you were talking about (the ones you didn't specify).

The VD exploit was an easy fix though, I bet Rockstar's own toilet cleaners could do it in about 10 minutes. The other issues, not so quick to fix.

I don't give a flying f*ck how anybody makes their money on a video game and neither should the rest of you entitled douchebags.

The game is not over in the first day. And you can still make passable money from regular gameplay as it is. Sure, it will take you a while to get 10 mils for a full garage, but it`s not as bad as you`re trying to make it to be neither.

It is NOT forcing MTs on you, because you can make decent profit per hour, doing just whatever missions you want.

It would force MTs ONLY if you would be constantly losing money, which isn`t the case.

If you have such a fundamental problem with the game, stop playing. I know it's an easy answer, but it's true.

Lmao this is nothing but kids complaining because they can make tens of thousands of dollars in just a few minutes with little work... Awww!

Guys, you do realize that they need to keep the people entertained for longer than a month, right? How fun would the game be after one month and you already had everything there is to have?

The game IS the grind. There is no "end game". Have fun getting the cash you need or buy another game. It's not WoW.

everyone is whining that getting money is too difficult and complaining about the microtransactions... I bet in a while when Heists are added to the game everyone will be complaining that getting money is too easy and they have nothing to spend it all on...

While I would like to see the replay option come back, I have no problem with micro transactions.

Rockstar is a company. They aren't charging us to play online. They need to make money somehow. Welcome to the real world.

Yeah im starting to dislike what rockstar is doing. Didnt red dead have an no friendly fire lobby mode? Make it harder to earn money, and make it easy to lose money via medical bills. Ugh...rockstar ill stay with you for now, but rectify the course youre taking.

There's no long-term fun for me right now. Boring mission design, bad balanced missions, hours of loading screen. It gets repetitive like grinding. Of course you can do different kind of missions/races or whatever but you need the peoples for that and most of the time no one accepts invites.

As long they don't fix the stuff I said, the only fun I have is with the freemode. Harass players with sticky bombs and my sniper rifle. :)

If you guys don't like companies trying to make money with micro transactions

It's not that. It's how they're ruthlessly luring us into spending real money on those micro transactions and trying to limit what we can/can't do ingame (money wise).. Do they honestly expect us to rob these stores that give out $1,200 every time? Not only that, if we constantly repeat those robberies we get increased stars. If we die trying to evade the cops, we not only lose the money we robbed, but we lose $2,000 for each death? Seriously?

We can't do heists. We can't use the stock market. We can't constantly rob stores. We can't replay missions to make easy money (or at least, in a few days it will not work). Disgusting behaviour by Rockstar.

I'm beginning to hope that these changes are only temporary. We're only in beta state, so we can hope that when the game is really finished it will be much more playable. I don't think R* really knew what they were doing making the transition from single player sandbox to a multiplayer one with micro trans.

Just do mission FFS, and routinely sell 9k cars at Los Santos Customs. Soon you can afford things and they are earned so more enjoyable.

You dont have to farm or glitch, just have a little patience.

If you really want to pay for cash cards because I want I want I want, then go ahead and waste your money.

^This

You are not supposed to be able to buy all the nice cars and the best appartment in a cople of hours. Not even for a couple of days.

Pay for cash is an option they added exactly for you guys that just want everything at once without taking a sh*t at us who wants a rewarding system where you work your way up. Just play the game, do different kind of activities and have fun, don't make it a chore.

+ pretty sure when you level up a bit it will be easier to earn money as you will have more activities to take part in and higher payouts.

I actually had to work quite a bit for my 100k apartment. I was really happy with it it tho so I really understand how hard work pays off. It's and exploit that prevents you from enjoying the game over the long term so I do understand why they did it. Missions are great fun with some friends so why complain? I just hope they fix the server issues soon, that is something you CAN complain about but this? no.. not really

Its just the way games are now. You buy the game then in order to get anything good you pay again. $10 here, $25 there, $5 here. It sucks but its just what the gaming industry is turning into.

I AM SORRY ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE VIDEO, BUT MY WEBCAM IS ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH.
