GTA V is getting boring. Everyone else got this?

Unless they bring out better ways to earn money, i'm probably gonna quit online soon...Feels like i'm doing difficult missions wiping out waves of guys, just to get a few thousand and when I die I have to pay medical bills anyway. I was doing ok grinding missions but now that's over, they don't want us grinding missions but the missions only pay a few thousand so they aren't even worth my time. When they bring out heists they better be worth it.

I agree. perhaps ONLINE will unfold as time goes on, but I miss the simplicity of a IV-type of freemode with weapons and health and aircraft littered about the map for brief romps of destruction.

OP you rushed through it... like many people... i've JUST finished the main story lines. not even touched side missons or bought property.

and even if i did rush through it.... i would never be bored. with the amount of things that can be played through. its a game to last years.

GTA isnt for you kid.

How do you not rush it when not doing the side sh*t? The side stuff is meant to be enjoyed as breaks during the story so there is life and expansion to each character. Properties also give mini missions as well. IF you truly did a non rush playthrough, you would have exactly 100% after the last story mission. I think doing all the things like hanging with friends, side missions, phone chats, hobbies are all meant to be enjoyed in between missions to give the whole playthrough more life and texture.

Some asshole ruined the ending for me at work. I don't feel like playing it much anymore. Ocasionally I still do side activities though but I am not bored. Just dissapointed that I didn't get to experience the ending first hand.

Cut out his tongue and make him bleed. Teach him how important that was to you, ruin his life for your annoyance. Show him how little he matters to someone compared to a video game story.

Go on and slice his face open, do it next time at work.

Can't wait till everyone comes back to IV - I'd rather play the modded to pieces IV online than the boring and choring V online.

Brb just gonna go and pick up an RPG, because GTA IV lets me - no strings attatched.

Lmao fanboys are just salty as hell

If we enjoy the game, we're mindless fanboys. If we hate it and feel the need to criticize it, we're spoiled brats. Why don't we just put a gun to each others head and see who's self righteous opinion matters more when we're all dead, oh wait, none of it matters then. "And the truth will set you free" - Dutch van der Linde

P.S GTA V was pretty good in my book and I can intelligently argue why I think it's a product worth my interest and not mindless "fanboy" (I have that word) love.

GTA IV is one the most boring games I have ever played, only being passable because of a small handful of characters. And yet people prefer that one over V? What?

Well that's strange because I have the best memories from that game - whether it's having a 16 player destruction car derby in that empty arena or racing up and down the runways for hours on end, it just felt so much more fun than V.

Gta isnt the game for you

Oh do you think so? When GTA IV came out I lost my life for over a year.... I played the story 15 - 20 times until GTA V and very often I made 100%...

but in GTA V... idk I dont feel like it's worth to use the time to play. Instead of GTA V I just played GTA Vice City again... thats fun.

Edit... actually I took 1h to play today... started this Kifflom sh*t... but... ehh no.

The point of the thread was to start an discussion which probably worked and I'd like to

take part of it for now again... yesterday I couldn't actually. It's an serious thread so stay calm.

And I hope mods wont close it.

Hate to admit it, but yes...single player is now boring. Which is a shame because during the story it was amazing.

They prefer it because it is not the new thing anymore. When VI comes out people will hate that and prefer V.

Ok... when I played the very short story with only less then 50 missions (A lot of them was "preperation" sh*t for the few heists where you got no money only the big one)....

yep there it made fun... a bit. But now...

No, if you enjoy the game you're a fan. If you bash and flame people for their opinion about the game you're a fanboy.

That's the difference.

The run to 100% for me is becoming a little tedious and not very fun, plus 69 missions was too few for 3 protags

In IV the only tedious thing was those f*cking pigeons other than that it was quite enjoyable

All up to individual tastes though

I'm in a crew... I got a lot of friends in Max Payne 3 too... where I had a lot of fun playing it until Legend Level or sth.

But seriously... I got my GF... I got my RL friends... oh me and my GF just engaged or a sort of it *-*

How many single player games have you put as much time into?

GTA IV, Skyrim, Oblivion, Bully, Arma 2 and 3, The Witcher 2, Dark Souls, State of Decay, Far Cry 2 and 3, Assassin's Creed II-III to name a few. But I know you were talking to the OP :D

Games aren't really things I can play forever. I get bored of them. I played the sh*t out of IV in hype of V but after I experience everything in V, surely I'll get bored. But hell I got some other fun things to do now like go to car shows and car spotting.

@SlappyPwnsAss, I just need to get this out. Stfu, all you do is go around insulting people and coming up with crappy ass assumptions as to why said person dislikes something.

Yeah the games you listed there are mega time sinks, but I think the point he's making is that if you hold it up to the competition in general, calling it a sh*t game can make you look a bit stupid.

It costs the same as a racing game. It costs the same as a tennis game, as a golf game etc etc, but more importantly, this game costs the same as a repackaged-squad-updated annual release EA title.

im not bored with single player, but semi bored with online. Every mission in Online is basically the same, and it's just annoying to make money. Another thing, apartments are useless. Save your money and just buy a garage.

My point is really that its right up there. You've got games like Metal Gear and Splinter Cell and TLOU and Uncharted... Great games! But they don't provide endless hours. I don't think GTA is always judged fairly. It's not meant to be an eternal game. You take what you want from it.

Myself, I'll play the story missions. Then I'll probably flirt with online. So far I'm about halfway through the story (I've been distracted by exploring). I've probably put about 15 hours into the game (wish I had time to play more).

15 hours is a lot of time. There's still half the story to go and then there's a whole online game for free too.

You compare that with single player games and its length is still impressive. You compare it with the best multiplayer games and they come with what 3/4 hours single player campaign.

I think GTA is always expected to be an eternal game. But I don't think that's fair. I loved The Last Of Us. Really enjoyed it. Clearly it's was a huge hit. But I was bored of in far less time than I will be GTA. But it's still a great game and I don't think I'll ever forget it.

People finding GTA boring is fair enough. I find CoD boring. But I don't think you can say that there's not enough content. There's way more to GTA than most games. It's just if you like it or not.

15 hours so far. If I completed the story tonight I'd still call it a long game.

I think because those games you listed there are linear. Some of the games I listed are more open-ended. But yes, of course GTA V is up there with those other games. Some people like the OP just complete the story and don't really feel like playing anymore. I've felt that way sometimes.

After like 500 hours in Dark Souls, I finally completed the game. I wasn't about to play it again xD

I've also completed STALKER Call of Pripyat. The atmosphere and story are amazing. I've had the urge to play it again just to bring back those memories of going through that dark tunnel with my AI buddies to Pripyat at 3 in the morning, but then I just stop halfway through installing it because I don't feel like playing through it anymore.

I think this is what the OP feels as well. I wouldn't call the game boring, I would say that I'm bored of it.

Oh right.

Maybe I misunderstood.

Just see a lot of people sign up to say that GTA isn't big in every way. I agree that it's perhaps missing some really cool stuff that was in other R* games but its a huge game that has carried even bigger expectation.

It's getting some unfair criticism in some threads.

It's story is longer than the story is story heavy games like TLOU.

It's map is not only big but it is more detailed than in any other non-R* game.

It may or may not be the best R* production but these games they are producing are simply staggering in options.

I guess I'm just fed up of reading how poor of a game it is in other threads and I've wrongly jumped on this one.

If its poor then it's only poor in comparison the very best R* titles. Because in comparison to other titles it challenges them on every aspect/feature (although it doesn't always win of course)

Anyway, maybe my ranting should be for some of the ridiculous threads out there where people are annoyed that GTA V isn't GTA Ultimate and has accurate to scale world map inside it and the option to play as various criminals around the world!!

Anyway, as you were! Lol

(Btw... Pool out and Yoga in?!? WTF?!)

Enjoy!

I was bored a few weeks in, and I intentionally didn't over play it, and also did every side mission I could when it was available. Was hoping Online was going to fix that, but it fell way short of expectations, especially after that monster trailer.
