Dropping Cash on Death

Hi Guys,

 

Do any of you know what the deal is with the money when you die?

 

There's a message that pops up in game saying "you are holding more than $5,000" blah blah, if you hold more than 5k and you're killed by another player, aren't you supposed to drop the money?

 

 

I've been killed 3 times now with over $10,000 cash on me... but have never dropped any cash (besides the standard $100).

 

Obviously, i'm glad i've still got my money but somehow doesn't feel right
