I actually really like the tennis in single player and it is OK in multiplayer but the lag makes it just a bit of a sh*t show tbh

I like tennis in single player as well. haven't tried it online yet.

I had fun with tennis in singleplayer, but wasn't really satisfied with the simple controls and tried some other tennis demos for that reason like topspin 3/4, virtual tennis 4 and grands slam 2. It seems they all have a lot of week points.
What I like in GTA 5 is that you concentrate on playing tennis in a private and quite nice atmosphere and don't get the impression to look a TV-tennis-show instead like in other tennis games with moderation, permanent changing camera views, and replays and logos popping up all the time ... - which feels so wrong.

It's not bad at all...it's pretty easy to figure out and you basically keep playing catch with the ball until one player loses their rhythm. maybe you just went swung left when the ball was going right?

tennis is okay from what i saw, though my friend is sh*t at it so it didn't last long. if i wanted a deep tennis simulation i would buy a stand alone game. i always prefered the old 16-bit and prior style of simple sports games, the new ones are just way too convoluted for me.

 

from what i have seen of golf (one hole before connection drop), it seemed like they were trying to be too clever. all that tiger woods sh*t can go to hell; Avatar Golf owns.

 

the lack of player parties though makes it a pain to try and get a game with a friend.

Well I do find it a tad frustrating to play, but come on, guys, this is a pretty much full-on tennis game INSIDE a massive open-world game. I don't think R* ever envisioned anyone loading up GTA V specifially for a game of tennis.

 

However, I do wish they'd dropped the tennis idea and instead kept the pool game from IV and concentrated on improving it to the same level they have the rest of the game. I love me a bit of virtual pool and if they'd given us a decent one I would be spending a whole heap more time in the bars than I do now.

had a game yesterday was getting beat 5 games to 1

made an epic comeback but still lost 7 games to 5

 

but i found it fun as hell some1 added me randomly too 1st time playing

That's pretty cool. I haven't tried either one online with anyone yet, just single player (as Trevor vs Michael lol). Would love to have a round or two of golf with someone or a full tennis match sometime. Psn is the same as my name here if anyone wants a go

 

Oh and the pool game from IV could've been a little better IMO. But agreed that they should've brought that back as well
