jdkzombie
and wondered if anyone else has, or if its just me But vehicles that one would believe would be four wheel drive like the counter part they are designed off of, are not 4x4. The Baller suv's, the patriot, the jeep, both models of Sandking, the dodge powerwagon looking thing, the rebel 4x4, several other vehicles i forget the name of, also the sultan, it was all wheel drive in IV. What gives, I try to go out with my trucks and play off road and they fall on their face trying to clear a single rock. Also, why no lift kit option is customization for suv and trucks? You can f*cking lower EVERYTHING, but no lift kits? The merryweather jeeps! Where to find them? I'd love one in Online mode! King Kapone
Eh, it doesn't surprise me if the 4x4s do not drive appropriately. But to answer your question at the end, you can grab a Merryweather jeep during The Wrap Up, one the last missions in the game. AtomicPunk
It shows that R* know nothing about real man toys. I can't believe there weren't any lift kits AND hover lights. WTF?? I also face palmed when semi trailers(lorrys) spin right along with the semi. The people at R* don't even have enough sense to know that trailers don't have motors on them. This would be redneck territory anyways and R* made it perfectly clear how they view rednecks or "hillbillies" based on the demoralizing tone. They even put small Toyota horns on big trucks for christs sakes. jdkzombie and Scoobroid 2 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/620427-something-i-noticed/#findComment-1063665162 Share on other sites
jdkzombie
Ha yeah. It's a shame because the vehicles in GTA 4 were all pretty realistic in the sense of FWD vehicles the in game car was based off of was indeed FWD, same with RWD, AWD, and 4x4. Hell, found a couple of cool places where you'd think mud tires would matter, as well as a lift kit, maybe a snorkel setup, and some lockers would make the difference. Also, I think tires should make a EXTREME difference in this game. Meaning off road tires should handle like sh*t on road, as usual, but be stellar off road, vice versa for high end and tuner tires. Hell, maybe instead of individual lift kits, maybe when you select the OFFROAD tier for tires and wheels, it automatically lifts the vehicle. hell, you could lift anything! Also....sand paddle tires!!!!! BF Injection baby. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/620427-something-i-noticed/#findComment-1063665240 Share on other sites
the_samich
Lift kit FTW! is what I would say if there was one. Can lower a minivan but can't lift a big ass truck. Crunch McThornbody
The only offroad vehicles that are actually any good are the ATV, the 'beetle' and the 'dune buggy', the jeeps/trucks that look like they would eat hills and rocks for breakfast are terrible when offroad - top modded sports cars perform far better on hills than those! MesaGrande
I agree. This is an awesome game, but for me the most annoying thing is that I can't lift my jeep. I can't drive my pre-made rock crawler (merryweather Mesa) over rocks... As was said above, you can lower a minivan, why can't you lift a jeep?! There's no 4WD either... I'm a huge off-roader and I'm not asking for lockers and snorkels or winches. But come on.... How does my ferarri out perform my Toyota and my Jeep? I would live it if they added a lift kit in the future. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/620427-something-i-noticed/#findComment-1063707838 Share on other sites
Scoobroid
Echoing the above post and Atomic Punk here. I am really enjoying GTAV, but it annoys me that the Sandking and several others are 2WD. They are off road rock crawling beasties, they should have power to all wheels. Similarly, it's stupid that the suspension upgrades only lower things - would be so much better if they actually jacked up the mud pluggers rather than slamming them. It's just a game, so it would presumably be simple enough to apply any handling upgrades they bring while simply making the vehicle taller, surely? Or perhaps the physics are too complex for that. vashts1985
PSA: the Merryweather Mesa is 2 wheel drive like its civillian cousins. pretty sure the Rancher is also now 2 wheel drive. and huge. way to ruin it. *EDIT* sorry, the Rancher is 4x4. my bad. yeah, no real 4X4 modding. WTF Thanks R* cant wait for PC mods..... BOOCAKE4U
just for the record, the rebel and sultan are AWD (and interestingly, so is the obey 9f, yet the comet isn't and i seem to remember it was in 4) but yeah, i'm currently lusting after the special mesa and really, really, really wish it was 4x4 Edited October 17, 2013 by BOOCAKE4U Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/620427-something-i-noticed/#findComment-1063710951 Share on other sites
