RealTuff
So, I've posted a few times mentioning that GTA was originally to be called GBH. They mainly changed the name because of the amount of guns involved and found that it had to be in the USA really. But, if GTA made an appearance as GBH, with more of an inclination on brawling and melee fighting than gunplay, do you think it would work? The Warriors showed that R* can make decent fighting games, and it would change the dynamics of the game completely if attempted, but how would you like to see it executed? GTA seems to revolve mostly around the big money, but what if the focus was switched from thriving instead to surviving? Packing way too many people into a five door car and opening up hell right on their doorstep with machetes, hammers and knives would be pretty intense. The entire combat system would have to be geared towards close quarters brutality, maybe even taking things from Manhunt. I think guns could make an appearance here and there, and even be available openly, but the police reaction to using them would be ridiculous if you didn't leave an area quick enough. Having Britain as a location isn't even of too much importance to me, I would just like to hear your thoughts on a GTA with a stronger control on guns and more emphasise on melee. Any fans of The Warriors, The Wanderers, A Clockwork Orange or going to a kebab shop will know what I'm talking about.

Grand Theft Savage
This is something I have been wishing for. For a really f*cking long time now. THAT is what I call a brawler game. Look at The Warriors. That game is definitely a masterpiece if I've ever seen one. They took from the movie and created something so powerful... It's amazing what R* can do. And Rockstar did plan a game that was along your lines of thinking, called "We Are The Mods" but is was cancelled. In fact, I don't remember it ever being announced, but it's said that R* was going to create a game that was supposedly the spiritual successor to The Warriors video game. It was going to be set in England, which was the only turn off for me, but I still believe that such a game has the potential to be my all time favorite. I've never heard of that game, but it would be very interesting. You say that having something in England would put you off, but look at some of the footage from the era, hell, watch Quadrophenia. I'm not into mod culture, but mods would stick razors on their lapels for slashing up the fingers of any rockers that tried gripping them. Extrapolate that for the modern era and you're cooking with gas! I think guns could make an appearance here and there, and even be available openly, but the police reaction to using them would be ridiculous if you didn't leave an area quick enough. Beatiful Idea Of course, it would lead to incredible butthurt against R*, what, firing a pistol/shotgun and having three cars of cops with MP5s turning up (admittedly around 10 minutes late)? Then again, pull out a melee weapon and they'll try and fight you. Some twisted combination of London/Manchester/Liverpool with all the outlying towns and their social and political troubles would make it intriguing. The IRA have shown themselves in a couple of R* games outside of the UK and have been big players too.
