Death from Above, Martin- No planes/helicopters

Dunno if Im the only one but it seems like no planes or helicopters spawn on this mission...Its the one where it advises you to parachute down into the mansion to kill a guy then take a picture of him.

Yeah I loaded up into that mission solo recently and it seems impossible to complete it without a helicopter, due to the massive amounts of cops and near-instant wanted level.

 

Yet the mission doesn't even have you go grab one.

Check the helipad by the marina. I went there and waited for a few minutes and one landed. There is also a perfect really tall building right by the estate that you can land the heli on and snipe some of the guards and then parachute in.

A buddy and I just completed this mission...No helicopter no airplane...Just lots and lots of bullets and stamina. Looked all over for a air vehicle, must be a bug but it is doable without one.

I also suggest not going for a full on assault, how my buddy and I did it we came on them from 2 directions and sat in the houses next to the estate and took out the roof snipers first (obviously coordinating with your friends on who they are shooting at) and then the guards at the gates. If you have grenades use them to destroy the cars blocking the gates a warning though the gates shut of once the attack commences and don't open until you get close. Other then that use some strategy.

I was having lots of problems solo with this one. Someone suggested I use a merryweather backup chopper for support. Worked first try. Just drove to the house, called chopper, let it aggro the house and ran in and killed target / took photo, got out

You realise theres two entrances right? One on the side and one at the front.

 

I always go to the side lob 3-4 grenades over then get the shotgun out kill the remaining ones on my way to the pool.

 

Take the picture and im off and drive into the mountains, put mask on no helicopters, sorted.

I've beat it only ONCE without a helicopter.

One time me and my friend did indeed catch a helicopter before, it was just landing on the helicopter pad at the hospital; it usually isn't there.

yeah team of 4 we just stormed in and rushed to the guy... shot him took a picture and one of the guys that died just jumped in car and drove to Martins place. Did it a few times because it was fun, kinda a saving private ryan attempt to blow the bridge like thing.

You say this but what about the endless amounts of cops coming at you?

It's like survival but you aren't getting any of the job done. Just wasting time killing the cops that get in your way.

This worked like a charm on two seperate occasions.

 

Be sure to load up on snacks though just in case.

Am I the only one that finds this mission relatively easy? I always do it on solo...

Here's my method:

 

-Go to secondary entrance

-There are 4 guys, 2 in front of the carr, one behind it and one on the right if I recall correctly

-Kill them and sprint on the right

-Now, there's a guy in front of you and another one on a balcony above you, kill them both

-Turn left and kill the target and the guards with him

-Go under the roof of the balcony and take a pic of him

-Run like crazy

 

If you are able to not die the first time you can just die after you took the pic and go to Martin's house, cause if you die you won't have any police after you.Also use a shotgun, it works wonderful.

we had 4 guys i think, one had sniper across the street up the hill, like where cops cant really get you till the chopper, I tend to ignore the cops and just outrun them, if you kill them they just send more with bigger guns and there is no break between spawns like in gta 4 so shooting cops is a death sentence almost, there gets to be a point when there are so many u just cant shoot them fast enough. Maybe sniper sniped and the rest of the team parachuted in, i forget, took us a few tries though, cause the heat was on and we couldnt find the damn target to save our life at first, lol!

The merryweather assistance can be quite expensive. I use the following technique, works everytime: drive to mansion, approach gate on right (front one), take out guards at gate, grenade the cars, alarm then gets sounded, immediately I then take cover and call Lester to get the cops off me, then shotgun all enemies while making way to pool area, gun down dude, take photo (there's a beam next to the pool that I use for cover during this part), then haul ass outta there to martins house. Hope that helps.

I drove in with 2 other players and ran a few guys over to get 4 stars so the police would put up a roadblock with an armored van. We drove the van in and around the back, killed the target, took the picture, lost the cops, and went to Martin's without leaving the van.

The ONLY time Helicopters appear in missions is during the day when the aerial tours lands at the marina.

Don't bother doing it. The payout is not worth the effort it takes, even with 4 guys who know what they're doing. Especially now that R* nerfed all the mission payouts by 50%.

If you have a full team, you can complete it without the helicopter by breaking into the mansion. The cops and security can be brutal though.

 

If you do use Merryweather or use someone that does have a chopper, this mission is so much easier since you can get in, take care of security and the target objective before the police even make it into the back yard. Having your own chopper is the best because you can take off and get rid of the wanted level easily.

This mission is easy with a second person. Have them wait at Martins while you bust in and kill the guy, take his photo, then go out in a blaze of glory. Your friend, who has no cops, can simply complete the mission then. Viola.

I suggest solo because the cops will be easier than with more people.

Difficulty increases if you have more people joining you to make it fair and it increases the difficulty by a lot!

I easily beat this game solo on Hard Difficulty because all you need to do is:

1.) Destroy both SUVs blocking both gates!

2.) Rush through the left of the building because of the less cops in the area.

3.) Kill the man in the back near the flower pots and shotgun the target along with the 2 bodyguards!

4.) Call Lester to request to lower wanted level because you may have 4 stars!

5.) Heal and fight your way out of there!

6.) Kill some cops and escape your 3 stars!

&.) Go to Martin Madrazo's house and DONE!

I have to agree with the posts stating it's not worth the effort, unless you're just looking to have fun. It's just $2500 (double that if it's your first time through...). If you try with a helo that you own, or call in one from Merryweather, your margin is now just $1500, if you buy armor before hand (at the level I am running at that's ~$400). On the other hand, if you call in the backup helo then you're effectively losing $2500 (or breaking even on the first try). Long story short, calling in a Helicopter isn't cost effective, and like the OP, I have not seen a helicopter in any of the usual places (Sandy Shores, LS Airport, the Marina, or the hospita)l--Day or Night!-- in this mission.

 

I've gotten close to beating this mission once. I was on foot, with a sniper rifle in one of the backyards across the street, further up the hill. I failed it because I got impatient after nearly wiping out all of the cops there (I killed a few, lost the stars, rinse and repeat... Which took a god aweful amount of time to work through)

 

After screwing up the first attempt with my alt, $2500 just doesn't seem worth the hassle.

easiest way is to use a tank, funny enough.
