So here is my little story:

When i was very last in races i quit the session legally but while the race was still going and searched for a new race to attend, simply because i thought it would be more effective than waiting for the other people to finish and it worked pretty well. Nobody complained and everything was fine. i may have done it.. like 5 or 6 times? I didnt think anybody would give a f*ck if the last guy in the race quits.

 

Today I have received a warning message that I will end up with the dunce cap if I keep doing so. I was like "WHAT? I am not supposed to do that even though I am using legal game menus (Pause Menu -> Online -> Find new session)??" But now comes the funny part: With the warning message I have already received that f*cking cap with a ban time of 2 days.

 

Even now I was fine with the situation, well the game isnt perfect yet so whatever. Lets play alone and rob stores for the next 2 days.

 

Now comes the funniest part: The ban time has now increased to 3 days even though I AM THE ONLY ONE in the virtual world. all i did was robbing stores and getting away from the police for the past 2 hours. NOBODY ever joined my current gaming session. I am not doing anything illegal.

 

WHAT. THE. HELL????????? I mean seriously.

So I cant even increase my rank and money by robbing stores while I am weaing the cap? Seriously what the hell is this bullsh*t? -.-

You left a mission early. That's what happens.

 

If you continue to do "bad" things you will continue to increase your dunce time.

take my advice stop playing for the next 3 days. same thing happend to me ( i was in public lobby when i did this) stole a car for simian in public while getting that cap along with the "final warning" and the 2 day went to 3, then i decide to go to solo and do missions that way, to avoid getting a 4th day. What do i get? i get day 4 after robbing an armored truck.....

 

apparently once you get the cap you have to not commit ANY CRIME or else you get penalized, which is pure bs along with the fact that you cant play with your friends that have yet to get bad sport...

Looks like I wont be able to increase my rank for the next 3 days... that sucks hardcore.

 

I dont care if some childs cry over being killed like little baby boys, I prefer to rape those guys in DMs anyway but the point is I didnt even go on anybodys nerves. This is absolutely unfair and baseless.

so ive been looking into it some more, and players who have decided to not play for the 2/3 day time period of bad sport only come back to find their time has increased to 8+ days. Looks like we wont be able to play with our friends at all even if we wait out the bad sport time.

To remove the dunce cap, you first have to visit a shrink and pay for a forty five minute session (and sit through it). Once complete, you have to show you have changed and become a model citizen by carrying out various tasks around city. Rockstar need to know you have been rehabilitated before they let you back in to the open world. Your ban will keep increasing if you do not carry out these tasks.

 

Tasks include:

 

Helping the elderly cross the road (hold 'A' to hold their hand as you cross the road).

Replanting trees.

Assist shop keepers with restocking of shelves.

Drive a tour bus with at least five passengers around the city. Make sure you stop for at least 30 seconds at each main attraction.

Jury duty

Roadside assistance, breakdown support.

 

Plus many more which I can't think of at the moment. Once you have completed these tasks and severed your three day ban, you will be allowed back into the 'real' world.

Is this for real ? Or you guys trolling here? This is f*cking GTA ! Why the ... I don't even belive this. Get banned for quiting the session? What if I get in to morons and trolls team and decide to quit? I don't have time to wait out every mission if I don't like it, I just quit. Or should I just go afk instead?

Good. Moves like that are the reason every single GTAIV race ended with no more than three players. As annoying as spawn-trappers.

 

Edit: but increasing time for killing npcs or not logging in is VERY lame - broken even since anybody with a full time job might NEVER get back to regular services.

Is there a way to get rid of it legally? Can i make the countdown decrease faster somehow? Cant i just pay a penality or something? What if i stop at red lights? xD

 

hence i would pay my hard earned (NOT glitched) $100.000 if i just could get rid of this sh*t.

Call Rockstar customer support. This doesn't make any sense. They ought to do SOMETHING about it.

Who cares if someone quits a race or session?, now Quitting a mission I agree there needs to be some kind of penalty but a Race? That's pretty lame, not to mention the other Turd Ideas like "Bad Sport" and "Passive mode" that doesn't even work. This isn't GTA anymore, regardless of what people think. It's a Social game with rooms(sessions) to do different activities, soon they'll implement Basketball and Vollyball..not that them are bad Ideas, but all of this "Bad Sport" crap is really a turn off. Grand Theft Auto....right...Can't jack a super and Mod it, need to buy a Cash Pack to get a cash boost to buy a super or Farm...oh wait...they patched that.

 

I Finally got to Rank 21 but I'm poor and Bald...Loss my hair..."Don't ask"

I Think people who pvp outside of Death-match are given a Low blow and the game really is not fair, not only to them but to everyone because NPC's are all perfect drivers when chasing you and have eagle eye vision but players are all stuck with what R* says we should have.

 

But yeah being punished to that extreme for quitting a race is completely lame.

The game doesn't and can't read your mind, nor does it care about your intentions; a rule is a rule is a rule. But the continuation of your misbegotten and barely deserved poor sport ban? Utter bullsh*t. Pouring salt in the wound even after a player truely and rightfully earns bad sport is too much. It's just a game after all.

I really have no idea what I am supposed to do now.

 

I didnt mean to bother anybody with quiting races early. I thought i would just appear as the last person on their screen with this "Never finished" note and thats it. I really wasnt trying to piss anybody of and I have never quit a normal mission or deathmatch.. and as I said, its not like I have hard-reseted my PS3, i simply quit using the option "Find new session"..

 

If I had received the warning BEFORE i had received the dunce cap then I wouldnt have never let it come down to this. The problem is that the warning came along with the cap...

Well.. to be honest it could be really useful against hardcore-glitchers, bug abusers, game modders and all the lot. But it is worth nothing if it catches honest, fair people too who didnt have any bad intention in what they were doing. I didnt receive ANY warning at all.

Some sort of dunce-indication, which increases when you are doing bullsh*t.

 

Right now nobody has any idea what is allowed and what is not. If some sort of GUI bar would decrease (something like: Respect) if you do bullsh*t then many people would behave differently..

You get it if you quit missions and races repeatedly I think. However, perhaps they should look over the parameters of this, cause in this case it just sounds stupid.

I Think what they tried to do was not divide the player base up too much

there's allready different aim modes (which there weren't in RDR lobbies which sucked balls) and to add 3 more server types would only divide them up more
