Gifted a gun but...

So while on a mission, a buddy gifted me an Assault rifle, now out of mission ive used up the ammo, since the rifle isnt unlocked for me yet, i cant buy ammo for it. how do i get ammo for it?

You have to wait until you are level 23 or 24 I think, when you unlock the assault rifle. You could also try having your friend do an ammo drop for you.

buy it when starting a mission, its cheaper as well ( or least it seems that way)
