That's why half my crew is level 80+ with tanks and attack choppers while I just went from level 24 to almost 50 in the last hour and have over a million now. plus several 200k+ cars plus best apartment.

Also you unlock different services like airstrikes and muggers which are fun for freeroam

Also lots more customization for your cars/guns/character and some people like having cool stuff.

Also your never going to have any of these things and not have even half as much fun as us while were riding around with 4 of us in tanks and another 4 in choppers tearing up freeroam.

Also were going to just grind a lil to get rank 100 or so with millions then never have to do anything again. So while you're out doing sh*t missions for 5k and selling cars for loose change were out having fun and not worrying about having to rank up or get cash we can do whatever we want and never have to worry about ranks or cash ever again just fun no work.

I'm actually having fun EARNING my sh*t.

Not "HEY GUYZ. LET'S DO DA SAME MISSION AND GETS DA GOOD STUFF. DEN WE'LL BE GREAT." You can have all the equipment in the world, but if all you did was do the same boring ass mission over and over again, your whole crew seems like one giant waste to me.

Posts like this almost make me agree that R* wouldn't be too out there nerfing the people who only grinded certain missions, and taking a good chunk of their things. I'm not completely there, but anyone who finds that they can have bragging rights for taking the farming way out seems a bit out there to me.

We're not doing the same "boring" mission over and over. We have a f*cking tank we do rooftop mission in under 30 seconds with a tank parked outside blasting their sh*t. We can do the "same boring mission" just a few hours which is nothing at all and be set for life. why would you want to have nothing forever when you can just spend barely any time for millions and high rank? We spend like 2 hours grinding and the rest having fun. While you spend all your hours doing lame sh*t. In other words, Work hard play hard.
Dumbest thing I've read.

Yup. I'm having a blast racing so I don't know why that's lame... I guess farming is the best thing in this game right? Would you guys do the same mission over and over again if they didn't offer a high payout? I highly doubt that people would have repeated Violent Duct if it hadn't paid 9k.

yea most likely we will get our stuff to fast and get bored with it quicker but more then likely you will end up bored with the game before you even get the chance to see the inside of a 400k apartment or the other expensive items.

Earning isn't that scarce so the underlined part of your text is highly unlikely.

There are a bunch of activities that earn money, and while regular players earn in the process of having fun; R* devs will be working on those expansions to the world.

Farmers are more likely to ditch the game (even if only temporarily) instead of playing/waiting for those expansions.

In any case, I don't care how you play your game, but this ^ is the truth.

Maybe I don't see myself getting bored with GTA:O anytime soon because

1. I don't strive for any item. I just play the game, and if I see it and can afford it, I'll buy it

2. I've been activated for a week and have only clocked about 14 hours. So I guess you can say GTA isn't a high priority in my life

meh the way i looked at it was i played gta4 from 2008 up until gtav was released and there was nothing to unlock in that game other then clothing so having everything unlocked in gtav will be the same way, people play different but i never liked the feeling of a game feeling more like work saving up every measly dollar for that one car mod, weapon etc

People are farming so they can do the missions and have access to better weapons and armors and the unlocks. Its not a blast going and having to kill a bunch of guys and then outrun them with 1 pistol and an uzi and then spend a good amount on ammo and weak armor.

I really dont see how grinding in gta5 is any different than grinding in gta4 online, I did deal breaker in gta4 hundreds of times and still never got to level 10. Its somehow different now cause the money goes to something?

I think is stupid for people to say reset for those player who farm mission. The glitch is there and meant for people to exploit. If you don't like it you can gtfo, you can't stop people from doing it. Not anyone have so much time to do mission to mission, if there is a quick way why not do it? Is now boring to farm btw, we use mic and chit chat and have fun that's what a game meant to be isn't it? In the end we able to buy some good stuff as we'll Don't be silly thinking those who farm is unfair to you or unethical, it happens to every online game. Get over it!

I agree. Farming is dumb. I don't see why you wouldn't just want to continue to open up new missions and get money that way. I don't get how anybody could just sit for hours doing the same mission over and over. That's why the game seems repetitive for some people. Farming is for pussies :D

Who cares if you have all of that stuff. I would rather progress through the game and not basically conquer the game in a few days. This game just came out and you have already done most there is to do. That's stupid. GTA V is meant to be a mini MMO style game that you progress through to open new stuff. You crew full of pussies just did one mission over and over until you unlocked everything. That's okay,,,kids will be kids...let the adults play the game how it was meant to be played, not by exploiting a loophole. Thats what's wrong with todays kids, they want everything NOW...and for NOTHING. But hey....good job on the mansions, weapons, and whatever else was so important to you...I bet it makes you feel great to know that you are KING of GTA V....a video game. Congrats! loser

Do you think we had anything other than clothes to unlock in IV?....no but people played it constantly for years lol so everything we can unlock now is just a bonus.

I'm glad that you're so angry and jealous. Which is what it adds up to you are somehow jealous over a video game.

Also what stupid ass people like you fail to realize is that you can't "conquer" an online game. Tell me how to conquer free roam? How you do you conquer every deathmath/race and sh*t like that just by having better stuff than everyone? the game will be updated and will always have stuff to do. The fun part is freeroam/crew stuff not your little single player race and selling a car at LS customs. You can always find something to do in freeroam you're the dorky ass old f*ck who can't pop a boner and getting pissy cause your jealous you spend all your time for nothing what is the fun in that?

"Earning" stuff sounds boring your basically saying you would rather work a 9-5 job every day than be a billionaire. Which shows what kinda f*cking retard you are.

And there's the answer you are looking for OP.

Most children that are products of western culture believe if you materially have everything you'll be happy, this is a belief hammered into their subconscious by society at every level to enforce consumerism.

They think the only reason to do anything is for the payoff that comes later. The faster the payoff the better the action. The sad part about this is they miss out on enjoying the ride, which any master of a discipline will tell you is true happiness.

The irony is they aren't very good at the game when all is said and done. What's more, they can't enjoy the game unless they are winning the round because their entire play experience has been an exploitive ego boost not based in reality. They will quit playing and claim they've done everything there is to do and go play something else, which ultimately is their lose.

Meanwhile real players, the ones doing robberies, free aim death match or 4+ player races to level up, will be reaching the higher levels proportionately with their actual player experience, appreciating the nuanced full spectrum the game offers.

Its much harder to take out an opponenent with a 9mm hand gun free aim from the wheel of a broke ass ride. Meanwhile the farm android-children will be auto aiming afks with an m16 and be so out of touch with reality they can actually pretend they are talented or accomplished something.

Its sad and just a tiny glimpse at the underlying problems facing the psychi of America's youth.

I'm rank 27.

I have the 130k house.

Two nice rides, about to be three.

Have 50k in the bank.

An assualt rifle that gets the job done.

This isn't to brag, this is mainly because to aquire all of this, I've never done any of the farming. I mean, it really doesn't seem that hard to earn money. Some missions give you less, but I mean, why not have fun with friends and continue to do different ones? Maybe I just don't see the point.

Like, wouldn't you much rather have fun doing different missions, and continuing to play through different ones, and get that satisifying feeling of progress when you aquire new things? I don't know. I can't see how someone would like to continously play Violent Duct 50 times, and be proud of themselves for doing such.

I mean, to each their own. I'm not saying punish the farmers. I could give a damn less. You're still going to be behind when all you know is how to kill NPC's on the same misson multiple times but y'know.

I fully agree with you. Been thinking this the whole week.

This guy right here gets it. It's about enjoying a great game with the many things you can do and feeling a sense of accomplishment that's backed by the experience you've earned personally. Sure you can have a condo, a level 100+ character and all the cars (without mods because you suck at racing), but what then? You end up with nothing to do because you paid more attention on a rank and money than on the actual game and when you do try to compete with other players, you will be destroyed most of the time because you decided to waste your time on one mission instead of learning the different game modes. It's actually sad how you people feel so self entitled, I wonder how deep the hole actually goes?

To actually respond somewhat intelligently to your post:

The reason most people farm (well at least for me and my friends), MMOs. Most of my crew came from either WoW, or Aion, or Lineage, or SWToR. So we're used to just finding the fastest way to level/advance and repeating it. Any MMO player will attempt to discover whatever the quickest way to advance is. Most people who just played console games won't even find it enticing, but us MMO players love every second of it.

I don't understand this train of thought. So if a football team makes a touchdown by exploiting the weakness of the other team, they shouldn't be allowed to make another touchdown for X amount of time?

The problem with your "you can do these other activities and MAYBE get X amount of money" is that there's no certainty there. There's a risk of having wasted your time for no real reward.

Before I lost my character I wasn't that interested in farming, I was just playing the game to play it... until I realize it was taking me forever to get to the next level. Still, I figured I had time, I had already bought a mid-level apartment with 6 car garage and was working my way up. Then I lost my character and had to do it all over again, and I am getting board with the game doing the same stuff I've already done.

I just want to level up so I can do the better missions and get the better guns and maybe afford the same apartment or a better one. Then R* goes and alters one of the few missions that actually pays out and fixes it so you can't replay any mission you may have liked playing or that had a good reward.

This is cheating the player in my opinion. Because I have to start over I am constantly getting stuck in rooms with idiots and douches who aren't interested in playing. At least the people who are interested in farming are interesting in playing the game and achieving its rewards through activities that are ACTUALLY OPTIONS WITHIN THE GAME. Why add a Replay button and then be surprised that people ARE ACTUALLY REPLAYING MISSIONS?

I think the "working a full time job vs being a billionaire" argument seems pretty accurate. Games should not be a full time job, they should be fun. Trying to level up the regular way is becoming boring and tedious. But if it works for you then fine, I'm happy for you. But don't go pooping on others just because they have greater ambitions than you.

Usually you have good posts, disappointed by this one though lol "I DONT CARE PEOPLE FARM" *posts topic bitching about it

Uh, it's me questioning why the f*ck there's so many farming topics.

I'm literally just asking for the point. Where's the f*cking fun in repeatedly doing the same mission, only to rush ahead and get the good stuff.. for what? You're not supposed to have the great things in a week's time. It's supposed to take build up, and hard work.

Not "R2. R2. R2". And do I feel I'm superior? I'll say this. If we end up in the same apartment, same level, same everything? Difference is that you farmed and I didn't? You're damn right. One of us didn't R2 the same massively paying mission that only lasts two minutes, if that.

Some people get enjoyment out of it.

That's your answer. Not everybody is the same as you.

Some people liked using cheats in GTA SP - for me personally I think that's lame - but if that's what they want from the game then great - it's their game - and if it doesn't impact me then I'm glad they're enjoying it.

I actually mix it up, I just go on and play as normal until I get an invite from my crew to VD or similar where we repeat it until I get bored. If the main missions paid more, I wouldn't bother personally, but doing a 2K mission then getting shot in free roam and spending all that money on a respawn absolutely sucks balls. Especially when your'e wanting to change cars or upgrade (even visually) your vehicle or buy guns/ammo etc. So the top up is nice.

Now I know it's supposed to be slow, but for many people it's too slow. You're allowed multiple characters, and I'm really not looking forward to starting a second one :S

Farming a mission also has fun factors. When I first played VD I died, now the crew gets together and we have roles, we work as a team and communicate to make it efficient. The actual level is fun, and we're spending more time shooting/doing the job than we are at loading screens and menus which is a nice change as well. Each time we might do something slightly different, as we work out what's best. The result is a fun challenge with teamwork that also rewards you with lots of cash and RP - why wouldn't you want to be a part of that??

The worst thing, is when I join a high level mission with big payout, and see 1 or 2 members not helping, just there for the reward letting us do all the work. THAT pisses me off.
