A Lamar Mission

I Received a mission yesterday by Lamar where you had to steal a Gas Tanker truck and then outrun the police??

Has anyone done this mission on PS3? Also cops try to do the PIT on the rig and the heavy ass trailer almost tips over, police can also get in front and practically bring the rig to a stop. Can't shoot the cops that can get you more stars. Anyone have any tips on how to pass it?.

I can't beat this mission either. It only allows a maximum of two players so I've tried having the 2nd player follow in a car taking out people chasing and riding shotgun. Either way the pursuers never stop spawning and they eventually blow up the tanker. If anyone's ever beaten the mission I'd be interested in hearing how you did it!

lose the cops and THEN pick up the tanker.

Have the second player get a higher wanted level than you, they seem to leave you alone and just focus on the person who has the most stars.

So simple really. Jump in rig then call Lester to waive wanted level BEFORE cops actually arrive.

i dont bother with any missions where you have to steal a trailer or a big ass oil tanker theyre just a waste of time

 

 

payouts aren't ever that good, npcs are unrealistically good at drive bys

 

 

martin missions are the best cuz 9/10 times you can just fly a helicopter to his house and avoid getting shot altogether

steal the tanker. get out and lose the cops. go back to tanker and finish. easy peazy.

^This. It took me like 20-30 minutes to figure that out the first time I played the mission though.

I lost the cops one time just driving the rig.. kind of funny, not sure but they just kept getting farther away as I drove.

Every mission where you have to take a vehicle, I always get in, then get out and escape from cops/ kill enemies, then get back in the target vehicle when all is clear.

Thanks for the responses! I never thought of getting out of the tanker because I was always afraid I'd fail for abandoning it. Looking forward to trying it tonight.

if this is the one close to the noose headquarters i think i just drove it offroad by the railroad and managed to loose them

call lester to remove the stars?

 

 

if this doesn't work, go out of the tanker and hide somewhere, nobody will steal the tanker and it won't disappear while you don't go too far away.

i havent tried this for this mission in particular but if you have bought a cargobob use that... aint nobody doing a drive by on you when your 250ft in the air.

For cops behind me, I keep swerving the back of the tanker to knock them off the road. That is, when I'm on the road. For slow moving vehicles like the RV and Tanker, I usually just monster truck it across the hills. Yes there is a risk of unhitching the trailer, in the case of the Tanker...but 90% time it stays on there.

Walk up to both guys

Stab both with a knife...you can even get a kool kill animation if you sneak up on one and are able to hit the button again in the direction of the second....but for the sake of just getting through the mission simply kill both as quick as possible, run across the street to the apartments and hide for a minute in the back. If you have a mask on put it on and lean against the wall and the time will be shorter. Once you've lost your wanted level take the tanker and have a pleasant drive knocking peds and vehicles off the road.

If it's the mission I'm thinking about, follow the tanker all the way to the depot, it's right by the LSC at the airport, kill all the Merryweather, take the tanker to the hills. " Done" Don't trying jacking it on the highway, just tail it. It will stop eventually, then ambush them.
