No need to respray them. As long as they are not premium cars then everything you put in your garage is yours forever.

Mechanic doesn't add insurance though, so that'll be a problem if it gets destroyed.

Once it's in your garage at your apartment, a tracker is added and it becomes your property.

This car will stay with you, but if you leave it somewhere random on the map you can't just go pick up another one from your garage - you'll need to fetch it (although often starting a mission etc resets it).

 

If it's destroyed you can claim insurance (assuming you had it) and go pick it up from the company (exact replica).

If you leave it out too long or get busted, you'll have to steal it back off the police at the impound (not that hard but annoying). If at impound too long it gets destroyed and you'll need insurance.

 

You can have multiple personal cars, but the last one you leave the garage in is your official personal car in the game. So it switches depending on what one you leave the garage in. Also starting missions while in your car in free roam, usually means they will follow you in to the mission which is very handy.

when you make a claim for insurance.. do you have to buy the insurance again..? or once you buy insurance once on a car, it will always be there.

 

i had to claim the insurance once, it stucked to see you had to pay a premium for making the claim, think it was like $1300.. i guess its like a deductable lol..

I reclaimed my car twice. The first time a friend blew it up for fun and I didnt pay anything for it, he did apparently. The 2nd time I drove my car into the sea and I paid 1300 as well. So it has to do with who's fault is I suppose.
