What's the Future like for GTA Online?

With the missteps, glitches, and problems hovering over Online Play, Rockstar promised us a solution to these problems. To be honest, I'm disappointed because they delayed the release of GTA for almost 5 months, so I expected a better experience in this case. Otherwise, what do you guys think, what is the future like surrounding this game?

It has potential providing they have a lot of content planned for the future, there isn't much to do in free roam with your crew except rob a store, I wish there was more stuff to do on the go with your crew instead of just robbing a store.

after being lucky enough to play it non stop for 3 days from thursday to saturday, even when they iron out all the glitches, I see it burning out faster than a poundland candle.

5 years later and they still haven't managed to include prevention code to stop the cheat high scores, seriously, 5 years R*, wtf have they been doing on the RGSC side ?

sure as f*ck got the cash card microtransaction side sorted out though haven't they ? the web team are just a lazy bunch of pricks unless it involves making the company extra money and not giving a sh!t about things that matter to players, like "Leaderboards".

I agree a company needs to earn money and I'm prepared to pay for periodic bolt in DLC, on top of the (mandatory) XBL subscription, but when they can't even get a fundamental part of the online experience working properly after 5 years experience then they're getting nothing from me, especially when I'm only paying for an XBL sub to play one game online.

and if there are many other players out there thinking the same way as I am, this is going to fizzle out and turn into the same mess that IV did.

and yes I know that it's all about having fun for most people who want to mindlessly run around shooting things, but well over 50 % of this game revolves around driving or racing with lap times etc which is what interests me and where the leaderboards come into the equation, and without valid leaderboards, why would I want to bother ?

don't even get me started on Solo play, that's just a joke, get to level 15 and slam head on into the same kind of difficulty plateau that plagues anyone who's ever played a Zynga game, it becomes impossible to progress without cash for more powerful guns and ammo and the only way to achieve that is to farm hell out of the highest paying job you can find or throw money at cash cards.

yes you can play in a random lobby but 9 times out of 10 you end up in with a bunch of mouthy teenage wankers who aren't even old enough to be playing the game let alone respect your rights to an enjoyable game, and using crews or friends to team up can be a logistical nightmare when most of us adults have working/married lives.

I dare say I will eventually be proven wrong but I'm sure there are a lot more people than myself with a similar view on this, but as will be usual, the teenage n00bs who only joined this forum recently for this game will be along soon behaving in the same manner as Jimmy in the game spewing bile on how this is the way forward etc ..................

Edit: here's a screenshot I took 4 days ago that clearly illustrates my point, and bear in mind this is a "Point to Point" "Cycle Race", that's Bicycles and a straight line race not laps, and 4 days later I see the Leaderboard is still unchanged, clearly nobody at R* cares or intends doing anything about this !!!

It's also disappointing because they delayed the release to make the game better, I guess they focused more on the story mode than online play. We just have to hope that Rockstar will improve Online play as time passes.

Well said my friend.

It looks bleak. There just isn't anything revolutionary or addicting to come back to. R* gave the idea that friends would be able to load up in a vehicle and go rob sh*t and have a good time, instead, it's just one frustration after the other. What a waste. I hear the symphony of destruction playing for GTA V. This is what happens R* when you get lazy and don't care. They've obviously lost their innovation that once made them great. Time to move on to bigger and better things.

I think they'll get it right next time. I just think this time they had to really step into unfamiliar territory and learn the breaks. Plus, hopefully, they'll pull their heads out of their twat and bring it back to vice city

They said that Vice City was a continuation of all the ideas they had leftover from GTAIII, and they have years of ideas after creating V. So, hopefully they go by the seat of their inspiration and not the "greatness" of the series or the potential for money. They included a lot of good humor and creativity in V, which I think is a good sign going forward. They just need to fine tune their execution.
