GTA Online Deathmatch Spawning

This could just be my opinion but the spawning in deathmatch when there is 16 people is horrendous. There were multiple times where I would kill someone, run 20 feet, and have them spawn in front of me and bash my head in. Happens the other way too. I would die and then spawn very close to the person who killed me and since there is no way to kill a new spawn he can't do anything back. Am I the only one that has this issue when playing a big deathmatch game?
