Press select, or whatever the PS3 equivalent is, go down to vehicle access, change to whoever you want.

you need to press the select button and there is an option for vehicle access. it defaults to everyone. you need to change it to no one or friends/crew only

Hold down the "Select"-button while in-game. It will bring up a menu. Somewhere near the bottom, there's an option that let's you decide who can enter your car. You can even kick them out if they sit next to you.

Hold the back button to bring up menu, scroll down to access to personal vehicle and click no-one

Why the f*ck can't we steal cars? It is the main selling point of the game. It's the title. There would be far less freemode murder if robbery was an option. I want to steal your car and your shoes. I want you to steal my car so I can hunt it down. I want to pickpocket and extort money from businesses. This game should be called Grand Explode Auto. Or Grand Homicide Walking.

You can steal countless amounts of cars...just not other players personal cars if they lock you out.

It would be cool if you reach a higher level that you can call some sort of locksmith over and steal someones personal car though :)

It's to prevent your car from being stolen since you have to pay for it if it gets damaged, it would make sense though that they could just bust the window like every other car. Then again I just realized I'm level 27, I'm going to go put a ignition bomb in my car, park it by some players and see what happens teeheehee

Yeah, I understand the decision. But even an expensive unlockable slim jim with only one use would be fine. Or a locksmith like bnicmc suggested. Players can camp outside missions, kill and steal much more than the price of an insurance call. But players would cry and sh*t their pants so I guess it won't happen.
