I don't use Slipstream to pass, I use it to set up PIT-maneuvers

Doesn't matter what position I'm in, it could be at the very beginning of the race. The moment I line up with your rear axle, I'm cutting into your car to spin you out and wipe you out of the race.

Why would I bother having a back n forth battle or pass you, only to allow you the opportunity to slipstream off me? That's why I always execute a PIT maneuver off of the slipstream to prevent anyone from being able to do it right back.

Otherwise if i miss the opportunity, I'll simply parallel the car and drive them into a center divider or into some sort of traffic. These tactics have been very effective for me, and maybe 1/10 attempts will backfire like when I did it to someone who I was battling for 1st place. I could've used the slipstream to pass on the final stretch and got the win, but instead I went for the PIT anyway and we both wiped out and ended up losing our guaranteed 1st/2nd placings right at the very end.

So yeah sometimes it can be costly, but a lot of the times for me I can spin 1 person out to then cause a chain wreck that takes out another 2-3 people behind him. So it can give you a real advantage and give you a large enough lead and gap where you don't have to worry about being slipstreamed for the rest of the race, if not then atleast a good portion of it.

Anyone else do the same?

Apparently a lot of people... and it makes a lot more buttmad.

But I dno't care. If you hit me, I slam the brakes, steer hard into you, and make sure both of us go out. :)

Yeah I've had someone try to pit me as I slip streamed past them on the prison yard race. We were coming around those final 2-3 turns on the last lap, and I slipped streamed past him, but I didn't bother with the PIT in this instance.

But the moment I passed him on the outside, he tried to cut into my car, but missed and ended up driving right off into the desert and wound up finishing in last place when he had atleast a guaranteed 3rd place locked in. I finished 2nd.

I laughed my ass off and kept telling him he got insta-karma'd. He ended up sending me some rage mail. It was great.

Half the time people ram me via slipstream, they just spiral out of control while I just move the analog stick lightly to level out...

It's real satisfying seeing them go head on with a wall from the rear view mirror.

Or you can stop driving like an idiot and learn what racing really is. I understand if someone spun out and took you along with it but to deliberately take someone out with a PIT manuever...what a bitch move. If someone slip stream me and pass me from the side..so be it. Trust me, learn how to REALLY race for your 1st instead of just taking people out to get it..it's way more satisfying.

one of the reasons why i think R* should add $$$ bonus's for races being clean.. +30-50% if you didn't have any contact with another racer.

I so agree with ya :p.

To answer your question, everyone online does this.

Not everyone my friend. I don't use it and i can win races just fine. To me i see what the op is doing as. A act of not enough skill, and or lack of parenting. When he was a kid/venting his anger out on everyone else...

The ability to spin someone out has been added to MP racing, I'm sure of it. Cops trying the same maneouver when you have a wanted level does not spin you out.

It makes the racing in GTAO retarded, as everyone is just trying spin each other out.

Legit move. If it wasn't, the game wouldn't let us do it. Also, it's the only reliable way to not have your SS overturned on you.

SS & catch-up make for exciting races that require the full spectrum of GTA moves - rare is the GTA mission that leaves your car unscathed. Hell, rare is the trip to SubUrban...
