What is the point of buying cars?

Are there any benefits at all of buying a car vs stealing one?

 

Do bought cars re-appear in your garage instead of the impound, do they re-spawn in the impound even if they blow up/get destroyed? Or are there certain cars that you can't steal that have to be bought? etc

 

Basically is there any actual point in buying a car besides a 'rewarding feeling'?

Pretty much just getting a car that you haven't found in game, or getting a car that never spawns in traffic.(IE JB 700, Stinger, Cheetah)

 

In GTA Online, it is the only way to claim and mod some of the vehicles. Like you can't just simply steal a 9F and keep it, you need to buy it.

Thanks, I won't be wasting my money then. I definitely like the sound of car ownership online much better than the SP.

 

Is it possible to own multiple cars online all equipped with a tracker/car insurance, or can only one of your 'owned cars' be equipped with a tracker/car insurance?

I know people usually say "Why not buy a car when you can steal one?" I do believe Rockstar Games wanted to give its customers a more broader depth in the game, in which they brought the ability to buy and own properties, cars, planes, and shares of the stock market. So I think it's another way for Rockstar to give its customers a more broader gaming experience.
