When will I get better weapons?

Just what the title says. I looked for this topic for ten plus minutes and couldnt find it on here. I'm sure there is already a topic on this. I'm on level 6 I think, and I still can only purchase melee and hand guns. When can I get assult rifles, SMG's and snipes level wise? Is there another way to get them other than leveling up?

you unlock smg at like lvl....12

You can see what level you need to be when you try and buy them.

Has a lock on them, and when you go to it says this Unlocks at level ***
