GTA V is gonna be the most hated GTA in 4 years

Why?

- Because people still prefer older versions of GTA to GTA V, according to some threads in this forum.

- Because GTA 4 was either too good to some, letting people down because they expected GTA V to follow same characteristics as IV; or too bad too others, letting people expecting a lot on GTA V and only to be left down.

- GTA VI will represent a huge leap from V, because it's gonna be on next gen consoles, and because R* don't wanna make the same mistake they did with IV (huge leap from III series in terms of graphics, etc, with less features). Everybody will say that V is so sh*tty compared to VI, more than they did with V compared to IV.

Also got a gut feeling that hardcore fans won't forget V's bad marketeeing or GTA online issues...

Only clueless people were mad about the first couple days online. Yes, If you were mad about it, you have no idea.....

Fact.

IV's step up to SA = insane.

V's step up to IV = meh.

Well... i dont know if you noticed but SA came out for the PS2 and the original Xbox (also PC)... and GTA IV came out for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Of course it was an insane step up.

GTA IV and V are both on the same generation of consoles...

Of course I f*cking know that, stop trying to be smart.

V looks great, and there are many things good about the game, I admit that.

BUT, there are also many many annoyances in the game as I've stated before and so have many others, whether it's the police, the driving, the damage, the low health, the empty spaces, the lack of interiors apart from a few shops and the copy and pasted 24/7s.

Sure, V is a step up in certain ways, but it lacks a hell of a lot of simple features which isn't excusable the same way they were in IV. IV's aim was to create a HD world with far-improved mechanics and physics - which it nailed compared to SA. So in V they tried to add all those activities we loved from the other GTAs, but instead they over-complicated features that didn't need to be - I mean I wonder how long they spent "improving" the police or the driving. All they needed was tweaking, not revamping.

Abd then there's Online, which is so over the top and complex, no wonder it was a f*cking disaster on release. Why not have a open beta to fix all that sh*t before release? Why waste time abd space on compulsory tutorials, why not let the player hit join and play. I don't want a f*cking phobecall every few minutes in multiplayer, didn't rockstar notice how f*cking annoying that was with Roman in GTA IV?

I could go on all night but I doubt anyone gives a sh*t what I'm saying anyway.

Gantons Most Wanted

I guess I'd be classed as one of those people who thought SA was god like but the sheer amount of things you could do in that game for the time was revolutionary it is a game I played well into 2010. The main thing which gave the game had such longevity is it had charm sure its storyline was ridiculous but that isn't the main thing to judge a game on. The true merits should be on how the game handles control wise, characters and there development but most importantly on whether it is fun to play which SA ticked most if not all of those boxes in my opinion.

Now my first play through of GTA IV in 08 I hated it the story didn't pick up enough momentum to keep me hooked. We essentially went from a GTA where you could pilot jets, customize vehicles, buy safehouse's and businesses, have gang wars and other crazy things which the series prided itself on. To the sheer depressing, hypocritical and annoying Niko Bellic whose storyline mainly consisted of drive here shoot some more guys get screwed over by mission givers, lose safehouses and most importantly having nothing decent to show for all the crap you went through during the story. For me a staple point of the GTA story dynamic is the fact you end up with maybe a decent crib and numerous things to show for what you did. But no in IV you essentially finish the game no better than when you started the game sure the friends if at a high enough percentage offer some nice perks but if it is a choice between going bowling with Roman in Liberty City or stealing alien goo as CJ in San Andreas, I'm sorry but CJ wins hands down there.

As for V all the people moaning about the driving and physics are you seriously telling me the Stockholm syndrome you developed during your time playing IV for 5 years is clouding your judgement. Sure I understand it isn't everybody's cup of tea and we all have different opinions but again now the boot is on the other foot it is a different story. Essentially you guys are in the situation many fans of SA like myself were when IV came out. The point is this franchise has brought many of us together to share some of the best gaming experiences out on offer through out the many generations of consoles GTA has graced with its presence.

V has its flaws by all means but what game doesn't the other problem as mentioned by previous posters here is you all built up this massive hype for yourselves you expected everything that was in GTA IV in terms of vibe, storyline, physics etc. and now because that ridiculously high expectation was shattered the dummies are out of the cots now.

IV's step up to SA = insane.

V's step up to IV = meh.

In a way, I somewhat agree. I mean the graphics are a huge step up as well as the framerate. The sense of speed while driving is amazing but where things drop down are physics. I find the physics fun at times but it isn't a real step up from IV. Also the AI isn't smarter than IV, in fact they're kind of dumb. When you're towing a car or trailer, they always try and move around it, if you wait a second after the light turns green they'll move around you. If you hit their car they just keep going, if you get hit sometimes they keep going. The police are really growing on me but it isn't fun when you can't kill in the desert without cops and it isn't fun when you try to cruise, accidentally shoot, and they ram you like a bunch of retards.

I still somewhat prefer V over IV. IV is a quality game but V feels like it is a quality game too.

V is easily a better game than IV. That's not even an argument.

Some people are just never satisfied with anything.

I think there are some people who would just prefer the games still be made on renderware and in SD.

I have no issue with people having opinions but some of the stuff is just outright untrue. The driving is nothing like Saints Row and cars take plenty of Damage. I sometimes wonder if I have a special damage edition because I seriously do not see what people are talking about. The cops are a matter of taste but if you know how to hide out of sight you can easily shake them. I lost the wanted level after the big heist on my first try.

Online is another matter but I do believe they will straighten things out and they did warn us about this.

I respect that some people don't agree with me but at least base on things that are actually true.

An the fact most of the complaints stem from no cop side missions, or no enterable fast food resturaunts, or no casino is what makes it all the more laughable.

If it's something HUGE I get it (like gta Iv total shift from fun, bright and campy, to grey and depressing and totally realistic), but there isn't.

It's just small stuff and go to other forums like reddit, neogaf, and such and they are all praising GTA V.

If you like previous gta games, great. But to hate GTA V is totally uncalled for, and honestly piss off if you do. You don't deserve being a gta fan.

GTA V will be the most hated GTA. Why? Is it because of the 782 people that hate this game? You're forgetting about the millions of people that played this game and enjoyed it. I've only seen people hate this game in this forum. Everybody I know loves this game. I haven't met a person in real life who hates this. The only thing people I know hate about this game is GTA: Online having issues, which should be fixed soon. This is the most popular game this year so it's far from being the most hated GTA. Just because you and few other people hated this game doesn't mean it's the most hated GTA.

GTA IV is the most hated GTA and will remain in that position until there is another GTA that can get more hate than GTA IV. I don't hate GTA IV though.

Okay, this is about as real as it gets. When I was in 1st grade I was playing GTA2 with my pot head cousins. I touched Vice City a little but SA was my first GTA that I could really appreciate. SA wow'd the hell out of me. Greatest game of all time in my opinion. I had played GTA SA from 2005 all the way to 2011, today, the novelty of SA has worn off, while I still deem it the best GTA of all time, I don't have fun playing it anymore. I didn't Get IV until 2009, and i'll be damned if that didn't wow me too. Not as much as SA, but I was younger at the time of SA. IV was revolutionary because the graphics and physics were great. I played it all the way until the day before V was released. Now, V is a great game, HOWEVER, I feel like more time could have been put into what mattered more, (OFFLINE) instead of online. While V is a great game, it's not great enough to make a WOW impression. V wasn't a big enough step up from IV to wow me. Infact, i'd say in most ways, V is a little bit of a step down. Mechanics felt better in IV, driving in V feels like a flashback from the PS2 era. Combination cheats are also a step backwards. I think honestly, the only ups V has on IV is the map, and some animations. There are little cool features and details in V that make it awesome, but the details Details DETAILS in IV was enough to make a lasting impression. I'll even go ahead and say IV had better online. V is just too serious. It's a game, they should have saved these robbing features and apartments for offline where they would have greater impacted the lasting appeal to V.

Rockstar f*cked up by dedicating too much time to an overly complicated online system. It short have been simple sweet and fun like IV. If they used the online development time and incorporated that into the offline, V would have been enough to WOW us.

-GTA vet. f*ck yall.

Ask people you know. The vast, vast majority of people who bought GTA V are thrilled with it. I don't know anyone who has anything bad to say, outside of the GTA:O launch issues.

GTA V is in no way a perfect game, but it is surely R*'s masterpiece. It may not be your favorite GTA, but it is certainly far more ambitious and successful than anything they have done before.

On this forum, the game is scrutinized more closely than anywhere else, which is understandable. But the constant negative backlash from a small minority of posters is a real cancer on the forum.

I started at San Andreas (sort of, I did play a little of Vice City). Loved it.

GTA 4 was very boring to me. Very boring. It felt incomplete. Not enough content or motivation to use the little that was given.

GTA 5 is one of my favorite games of all time. The dialogue, animations, car chases, shoot outs, etc., all look straight our of an action movie. Love it. Addicting. Only game I've enjoyed going on mass destruction.

I love the 3 characters. Can't go on rampages with Niko. Feels stupid. But Trevor fills that role amazingly.

Love the side quests. Always get excited to find a random event or freaks, etc. Love hillbilly country. Love the cars, weapons, planes, etc.

It's a game that convinces me of the world. A big parody of life. Love it.

The perfect reason why this forum has the most back lash than any other forum (or regular people) is because almost everyone here has been following this game for 4 years day in and day out getting their expectations higher than the sky and then when it failed to deliver to their standards, its bombarded with heavier criticisms than needed. I understand the criticisms and I agree with some of them too, but in the way it is presented by some users on this forum is unnecessary.

IMO GTA 4 was a letdown compared to SA... It had the graphics but it lacked story, content, had stiff controls, almost no customization, horrible main character people didn't care about etc etc... I don't see how anyone could really consider 4 a step up from SA considering it was a new gen console game for its day.

You've got to be kidding me.

It would be more productive to bring up counter points for debate.

There are fewer vehicles, weapons, story missions, and even the size of the city itself is smaller then SA.

For me, GTA IV's had the best story and one of the best characters as well.

The story had the most plots:

- It had the "Niko running from Bulgarin" plot

- It had the "Niko trying to find who killed his friends" plot

- "Niko coming to liberty city to be rich like his cousin" plot.

So yeah, that's the character with the most purposes. Also, Dimitri and Michelle's

betrayal

and Bernie Crane being a fa**ot when everybody was thinking you were about to cap an antagonist, and Roman

dieing

at the final (for me), just epic. Funeral shoot-outs and dat bank job? epic!

Compared to Tommy... 15 years in jail and knows how to fly a plane? CJ, a neighbourhood kid, assaulting a train convoy to steal some allien green gloo? Nah, not my style.

This is one of the best posts ive read on gtafprums. GTA IV was a masrerpiece, the story was epic and heartwrenching because someone.close to you dies at the end. The free roam is fantasic, taking in the new york enviorment and overall the main thing that was great about it was that it proved gta is still alovable, yet controversial franchise. And the big jump in graphics from San Andreas to IV was unbelievable

I loved the setting and story in IV but I also love it in V. V has a more Pulp Fiction and Tarantino kind of feel to the story in the sense that is not really linear but the play between the three protagonists is great.

If anything the misconception that GTA IV removed features will probably guarantee it's place as the most disliked GTA game of all time in 4 years. Unless they somehow decide to actually start over completely again next-gen, which I certainly hope they don't.

I love that GTA IV gets so much negativity as strange as that sounds. Makes me love the game more. Then again I'm the type of person who goes for the villain in movies.

GTA IV is awesome because it's so misunderstood by the majority.

To be honest, GTA IV as a whole was a symbolic journey of Niko (a immigrant to America) coming to find the American Dream in the land of opportunity only to have it shatter and decay right in front of his face with corruption and greed infecting most of the inhabitants with murder, betrayal and all kinds of vices. It is a joke on the American way of life and its so called freedom being nothing more than bright and attractive advertisements and money to those who sell their souls to capitalistic corruption.

GTA II, nuff said, but V was not bad at all. I don't see what the hate is all about?

introduction to the gameseries..first played it when my brother rented it on ps..been hooked on gta releases ever since (except for those mobile stuff)

people loveeee drama..they say hate, they mean dislike...

V will never be the most hated game in the gta series, not with IV in the picture

its not the best either, its just one of those nice rockstar releases (if they fking fix all those gdamn bugs nd glitches that is)

best still remains SA, not for nostalgic reasons (cause that would have been III), its just the most maximized traditional GTA version made till date.

I don't think so. I see lots of love everywhere for the game except for over here. Although it's fair to say that most of the people on here are fans of the GTA franchise and as we all know the greatest fans make for the biggest critics. At the very least when GTA VI comes out people will flock and say that GTA V was the greatest and everything else sucked.

I totally agree with this. I just don't why Rockstar believe that this massive online multiplayer project was the way forward for GTA's future, because in my eyes, it just is not. As a result, I really believe the single player aspect of GTA V suffered from this. GTA V is a great game regardless, I've gotten very far into the game and I really do like, but once again I just feel that it could have been much better. For such a huge map, there is a great deal more that could have been included in the single player.

GTA V is better than GTA IV, but not by far. And that is not really a good thing.

And i can't take seriously anyone who says that GTA IV didn't represent a great leap in terms of graphics and physics, among other things. Sorry, i just can't. May be your opinion and a lot of people's opinion, but it's exageration imo.

I always chuckle when people give GTA IV's story crap, and praise San Andreas storyline.

Secret Agent Triad Gang Banger was just SOOOOOOOOO deep and amazing.

And those trucker missions were just some of the best things in gaming.

I always chuckle when people complain about a video game character from the hood who can learn to fly a plane.

Anyways, IV will always be the worst GTA game imo. It was such a huge step back from SA in terms of gameplay.

V is disappointing, but it is much better than IV. Still not as good as SA was at the time though.

In this post: I can't come up with a reason to defend San Andreas storyline, so I'm just going to act like the only abnormal thing CJ did was learn to fly a plane.

Really, it says a lot about you as a person if you think THAT was the only thing that made CJ Secret Agent Triad Gang Banger man.
