GTA V is gonna be the most hated GTA in 4 years

Recommended Posts

Why?

- Because people still prefer older versions of GTA to GTA V, according to some threads in this forum.

- Because GTA 4 was either too good to some, letting people down because they expected GTA V to follow same characteristics as IV; or too bad too others, letting people expecting a lot on GTA V and only to be left down.

- GTA VI will represent a huge leap from V, because it's gonna be on next gen consoles, and because R* don't wanna make the same mistake they did with IV (huge leap from III series in terms of graphics, etc, with less features). Everybody will say that V is so sh*tty compared to VI, more than they did with V compared to IV.

Also got a gut feeling that hardcore fans won't forget V's bad marketeeing or GTA online issues...

To be fair, GTAForums is like the only place where I've seen overwhelmic majority hate for the game, nearly everywhere else love it save for a few complaints, most of whih stem from GTAOnline the past week.

IV's step up to SA = insane.

V's step up to IV = meh.

Not a lot you can do with current consoles.

Exactly, why over complicate things then? Free-mode is called "free" for a reason. Do what you want, pick up an RPG from the street corner, blow sh*t up, laugh it off, it's a game. Not get robbed of 2000 every time you die, now I can't afford a pistol, rob a store to get some money, oh f*ck now police are after me because i can't f*cking turn then off.

That's why IV's was fun. Simple, but fun. That's why people still play it to this day.

GTA V is definitely better than GTA IV in my eyes and an improvement on it, but not by far, and that is what appears to be the problem here. Going by what Rockstar stated in their previews, GTA V should have been much better than GTA IV, but there are just some things missing from it that does not give me that feeling. Don't get me wrong I really like the game and I'm having a blast playing it, but I really do feel that Rockstar could have added much more and done much more with this game. I mean look how huge the size of the map is - there is so much potential in this game, but it seems a lot of effort went into online/multiplayer, which is another that I really don't like.

I don't know why, but Vice City and San Andreas just managed to have more of that massive 'wow' impact on me when I first played them, something all GTA games after it just have not been able to do.

People prefer older gta's? Based on what the 10 guys in here who dont like gta v? Outside of this forum theres barely any hate on this game look at reddit.. Besides when IV was released everyone was complaining, saying it was the worst gta they ever played and instead praised the older games... Now the same is happening and gta VI will be the same, people crying about stuff the game doesnt have and treat prior games (V, IV, SA...) like gods

IV's step up to SA = insane.

V's step up to IV = meh.

IV's step up to SA = ok.

V's step up to IV = meh.

Ok, not insane, but it was good enough for it to be my favourite game for the past 5 whole years.

V hasn't been out 3 weeks and I'm getting rid of it.

IMO GTA 4 was a letdown compared to SA... It had the graphics but it lacked story, content, had stiff controls, almost no customization, horrible main character people didn't care about etc etc... I don't see how anyone could really consider 4 a step up from SA considering it was a new gen console game for its day.

That's just a bunch of kids who grew up playing 4, in the real world I don't know anyone who claimed GTA 4 revolutionary.

Almost everyone I know views GTA IV as revolutionary.

In fact, the only people I know who do not are people who can't take their nostalgia goggles off of San Andreas.

I started with GTA 2, prob spent more time in Vice City then SA, had too much too do at the time and SA was far too massive for me to do more then beat the story.

Yeah, I started with GTA 1, and have 100%ed every game but San Andreas.

They're all good games, but San Andreas gets too much love just because it has a bunch of pointless crap people never did.

HOW'S ANNIE?

It would be more productive to bring up counter points for debate.

There are fewer vehicles, weapons, story missions, and even the size of the city itself is smaller then SA.

For me, GTA IV's had the best story and one of the best characters as well.

The story had the most plots:

- It had the "Niko running from Bulgarin" plot

- It had the "Niko trying to find who killed his friends" plot

- "Niko coming to liberty city to be rich like his cousin" plot.

So yeah, that's the character with the most purposes. Also, Dimitri and Michelle's

betrayal

and Bernie Crane being a fa**ot when everybody was thinking you were about to cap an antagonist, and Roman

dieing

at the final (for me), just epic. Funeral shoot-outs and dat bank job? epic!

Compared to Tommy... 15 years in jail and knows how to fly a plane? CJ, a neighbourhood kid, assaulting a train convoy to steal some allien green gloo? Nah, not my style.

yeah those were my main issues in IV, they improved graphics but it lacked a lot of content :/

I always chuckle when people give GTA IV's story crap, and praise San Andreas storyline.

Secret Agent Triad Gang Banger was just SOOOOOOOOO deep and amazing.

And those trucker missions were just some of the best things in gaming.
