Once everything is fixed, R* needs to reset everyone.

I lost my rank 22 character yesterday. I retried when it said the social club was down so I think I lost it. I don't think there should be a server wide reset since it is unfair for the people who played legit and put some hours in to get to a high level. It took a little while to get to rank 22 but I think I will just do the violent duct mission repeatedly till I get back to where I was.

I have a level 36 character that hasn't been deleted and honestly if it meant fixing everything I'd be for a reset. Ruins the game a little when friends that were around your level all start losing their characters.

• Violent Duct and other missions "Farming", which Rockstar tried to put a stop to by removing Replay vote option, but people got around that by simply pressing R2 restart trigger to replay. Rockstar now has to make another patch to remove that too.

• So many people with connection issues, who can't play

• And if they can play, lose their characters

• it's just highly unfair to have some players who are high level and didn't get character deletion, abusing lower level people who suffered technical issues that are Rockstar's fault.

So, considering the character deletion issues, the connectivity issues, the lack of stable servers, and the players who abused the Replay system to farm certain Jobs, I think it's fairly obvious Rockstar needs to press the RESET button on everyone, once the game is actually fixed. Consider it the unofficial "launch".

 

Players everywhere were robbed of the "Launch day feeling" of progressing together, everyone is low level, and ranking up together.

 

Or they could just sort the game and leave people be instead of resetting everyone, that would just ruin the game for people who have spend hours and days playing online to get where they are. People stop playing games when developers do that...

Farming is one of the key cornerstones to any good MMO. To just have a place where you can go to do a long grind is what keeps most people playing.

You're not resetting my rank 37 character, I "worked" hard to get there. Work in this game is fun, so that's why its in quotes.

 

This game is about farming, its easy to make money if you're smart. I have friends who think they're smart and told me they would be better at this than me, yet they're still level 3. It actually takes SOME intelligence to play.

The amount of bad publicity that they would get from wiping the servers alone would prevent them from ever doing it, not to mention countless other reasons. They are a business. They aren't going to alienate all of their customers. They would prefer to merely alienate some of them.

 

Actually, they will receive good publicity for doing it.

 

They have ALREADY received bad publicity for their terrible Online launch. And they committed the WORST SIN in gaming, the loss of characters in a game that's all about progression.

I don't see that happening honestly, But i have remade my Character 4 times, Each was above Rank 10, My new one is Rank 8-9, And i'd rather not lose the 4+ hours spent on making her look nice lol screw the ranks and money having a good looking toon is an achievement within itself ^_^

Im sure everyones lost a charcter, some of us were smart enough to realize that when it said cloud is down we didnt go and spend 7 hours grinding for xp and money expecting it to save. Also while were at it lets have a reset after christmas, its not fair to all the people or "kids" who had to wait for santa to bring them their copies of gta5 and now theyll be playing at level 1 while everyones level 50+. We dont wanna ruin their holidays.

No. Just no. Just because people are losing their characters and ranks and all this other crap does not mean those who have not been affected should to. I'm sure everyone here lost atleast something in their time playing, and those who didn't deserve to be where they are farming or not farming. Last night I lost 400k and 6 levels. Sure, I got that farming and could easily get it back, I just have not yet in the fear of losing money again. Imagine how i'd be if they just rest every single person. R* would probably have a riot on their hands.

I just don't get why you lump everyone who lost a character, into the same pool as you. I was having a blast all week not many problems, then Saturday rolls around and boom, my character is gone. I didn't sit on my ass all weekend doing nothing, I created a new character and got right back into playing. There is absolutely no reason to reset everyone, especially since that whole tutorial thing in the start of the game. I know you said they fixed it, but they also said you weren't supposed to lose money out of your bank, and the "fix" for that, doesn't work at all, so I would rather not take my chances with that tutorial again.

While resetting everyone's characters would make things fair, life is not fair so if you got screwed by the servers (I have only a few times so far knock on wood) then we will just have to deal with it.

 

I would not mind everyone starting over at level one but honestly, to what end? A lot of people did not get hit with glitches and are much higher level, and good for them. I may want to have an even playing field but not at the expense of other players that have put a lot of time in to get where they are.

 

A more reasonable option I would think is to offer some sort of compensation for those players that have submitted bug reports regarding character deletion, vehicle loss, etc.. etc.. Give me a million bucks in GTA dollars and all is forgiven

 

I had a lot of fun playing with my crew members even after my character loss and thats what really matters to me. Having fun first, slaying enemies and making bank second
