But I got over it, started again when the servers were more stable. level 23 now, having a blast. If they fix the servers for life, I want everyone's avatar to be reset because my life is sh*tty and everyone has made more progress than I have, herp der. And I'm only being half sarcastic

It wasnt even a glitch. They just overlooked the fact you could use the replay button to farm. The ability to replay missions was intended and it worked as intended and it was used as intended until R* decided that too much money was being made.

• Rampant, millions of players with character deletion issues

• Violent Duct and other missions "Farming", which Rockstar tried to put a stop to by removing Replay vote option, but people got around that by simply pressing R2 restart trigger to replay. Rockstar now has to make another patch to remove that too.

• So many people with connection issues, who can't play

• And if they can play, lose their characters

• it's just highly unfair to have some players who are high level and didn't get character deletion, abusing lower level people who suffered technical issues that are Rockstar's fault.

So, considering the character deletion issues, the connectivity issues, the lack of stable servers, and the players who abused the Replay system to farm certain Jobs, I think it's fairly obvious Rockstar needs to press the RESET button on everyone, once the game is actually fixed. Consider it the unofficial "launch".

 

Players everywhere were robbed of the "Launch day feeling" of progressing together, everyone is low level, and ranking up together.

Aren't players supposed to matched into sessions with players of comparable levels and skill? Given that, it really doesn't matter who farmed money where or how. I lost my first two characters, the second one at Rank 14. I got over it and just didn't make the same mistake of playing while the Cloud Servers were down. I'm at 25 now and that's largely through solo sessions. If I got reset deliberately after all that work, I'd probably still play...but it would just be to make everyone "Eat a dick!". I'd watch the world burn, just cuz.

Not everyone has time to play the game 24/7, if they reset my char I might aswell call it a day and quit GTA:O. It shouldnt be my fault that most users are retarded and can't manage to keep a character. I havent had a single character disappear (guess what, I only made one character) and the issues stopped for me after the first race on release day (and it's not just me, all of my friends have no issues with the game). You should use common sense and go back to SP to force a save before you quit playing or put on a mask (it saves your progress too when you alter your appearance).

I consider myself to be very lucky as so far I have not had my character deleted. I have however had alot of issues with connection to missions, connecting with crew and getting back on to online in general sometimes.

 

Its buggy as hell but oh well its a game, I'm just gonna do what I can and what it will let me do until its all sorted. Because of these issues of connection I have not levelled as much as I would of liked but hey, it happens.

 

With this point in mind though I would be extremely annoyed if my character was wiped because some people can't deal with the connection issues. There is always gonna be people on a higher level than you, who can dedicate more time than you so what difference is it gonna make?

I don't understand why replaying a mission is an "abuse." Once you complete Violent Duct, doesn't it become available in the mission list? And if it doesn't, aren't there plenty of other missions you can redo that are pretty darn easy? Methed Up or whatever it's called is easy and if you have three or four players, you can get $5000 in about 2-3 minutes, max. So will they patch that one, too?

 

Farming is essential if you want to advance to later levels. If you only play every mission once or twice, you'll end up being at level 50 and be stuck. Just look at Red Dead ... the stats you could reach on those missions were set up in such a way that you would have to play many of the missions 200-400 times each, if not more, in order to reach them.

 

Speaking of Red Dead, I remember how they had to patch one gang hideout because it gave a huge amount of XP. So why didn't they simply lower the dollar amount to $2000 or something so that people didn't want to replay it so much?

Um ... Tim, I'm glad that you haven't experienced any problems, but to suggest that we're all "retards" because we've lost characters ... well, you clearly have NO CLUE what you're talking about.

 

For the record, EVERY TIME I have played, I've gone back to SP mode first before shutting off my system. In some cases, I've even gone back to SP, then back to GTA Online to make sure everything's there, then back to SP again, and then shut down. But then an hour and a half later ... a day later ... whatever ... I go back on and sometimes, it's fine and sometimes, everything is gone. This has happened to me four times now.

 

Your whole statement is asinine. Just consider this ... if I have a character that's fine in the morning and then in the evening when I start up again ... even if I then forgot to go back to SP (which I shouldn't have to do ... I never did that with Red Dead or GTA IV ... and it REEKS of terrible programming), then wouldn't only my progress from that session be deleted? But no ... it's the ENTIRE FREAKIN' CHARACTER, no matter how many times I've fired up the system, saved, shut down, restarted, and been fine. This last time, which just happened last night, I had gone through the whole thing of starting up the system and shutting it down at least five or six times ... and then the seventh time, it was just all gone.

 

Plus ... while you clearly have such infinite wisdom, explain this for me ... in my last character restart, my money -- all $545,000 of it -- was still intact. So how do you account for that? I messed up and deleted my character somehow (despite being saved several times), but kept my money? Yeah ... that's how I designed the game, don'tchaknow? lol

 

And what about my friend who logged on last night and the rank he had just earned on his last game session was still intact, but he had lost more than $200,000 of his money?

 

Since we're all retards and you and your friends are clearly the only people who know how this system works and how to prevent these issues, then answering these questions should be simple ... right, exalted genius?

a full reset shouldn't happen. but all the high level trolls with dunce caps need to be reset. as long as you aren't just ruining the game for lower leveled players you shouldn't be punished.

 

they need to get ride of passive mode in favor for a hardcore mode. regular players can do missions in free roam and level up making progess. all the free range maniacs can go wild on hardcore mode. just all the mindless carnage that made the franchise so popular to begin with. no leveling up, you cant make money or lose money. just setup your favorite weapons and body armor and go nuts with other people that just want to go nuts.

Right now, you guys are mostly overseas, Aussie's, british players etc. You guys play when the americans are asleep, so your characters aren't at risk like americans, when the peak hours crash the servers and cause mass character deletions.

Less traffic on servers = Cloud doesn't crash = no mass character deletions

 

 

Meanwhile, Americans are the ones suffering from this problem the most, because we all try go to online, and crash the servers, causing mass deletions.

 

We will see how the majority of americans feel after they start waking up or getting home later in the day.

The rest of the worlds has more gamers than the usa dumb ass... american ignorance you can beat it.
