Once everything is fixed, R* needs to reset everyone.

Consider this :

• Rampant, millions of players with character deletion issues

• Violent Duct and other missions "Farming", which Rockstar tried to put a stop to by removing Replay vote option, but people got around that by simply pressing R2 restart trigger to replay. Rockstar now has to make another patch to remove that too.

• So many people with connection issues, who can't play

• And if they can play, lose their characters

• it's just highly unfair to have some players who are high level and didn't get character deletion, abusing lower level people who suffered technical issues that are Rockstar's fault.

So, considering the character deletion issues, the connectivity issues, the lack of stable servers, and the players who abused the Replay system to farm certain Jobs, I think it's fairly obvious Rockstar needs to press the RESET button on everyone, once the game is actually fixed. Consider it the unofficial "launch".

 

Players everywhere were robbed of the "Launch day feeling" of progressing together, everyone is low level, and ranking up together.

Are you kidding? Some people played the game legit, it's not their fault R* can't get their sh*t together on some parts. That's not enough. I lost my level 17 character on Saturday morning 11am Eastern. I haven't played a second of GTAO in hopes of my character coming back.

 

That means I am already several days behind. I couldn't play on Tuesday(server issues, tutorial glitch), Wednesday(server issues, tutorial glitch), Thursday (server issues, tutorial glitch), Saturday (character deleted), Sunday(character deleted), and now Monday(character deleted) and counting.

Sorry but this is like fighting fire with fire. (Yes I know forest fires are often fought against with fire). Why should they reset everyone who ranked up in a legit way, which I think are most of the players. I would think otherwise in strongly competitive e-sport games or MMO's, but certainly not a title lika GTAO.

You're being selfish, by wanting to wipe everyones progress, I'd want to keep my progress because I don't want to see my hard work go to waste, and all of you should stop assuming that everyone is using exploits, im rank 32, I never have even played that one mission, or exploited the game in any other way. Matchmaking is done on a RP basis, which means you shouldn't be getting put into games with people much higher ranked than yourself, so there's no real advantage in PvP.

 

The only real difference is that people will have shinier things before you do. Not really that big of a deal.

 

Yes, it sucks that people haven't been able to reliably play the game. But there's no real gameplay specific reason that means a reset would be necessary.

It's got nothing to do with being selfish - it's just that I haven't seen any real reason for it to happen.

 

As to your question - yes they could, and i'd live with it. As i've said before, while i've put some hours into the game, and am happy with where my character is at, i'm not emotionally invested into it. If it goes, i'll restart when the servers are stable.
