Jesus, is GTA Online everyones first online game?

 

It's not THAT bad. To say that this feels like an Alpha build is a f*cking joke.

 

Yeah, it's a rough launch, yeah, IGN has the right to call them out on not having a beta and generally having a bad launch, but at the same time they're just saber rattling at this point to get all of you going.

 

 

Sorry but it is THAT bad. I've been playing MMOs for about 12-13 years now and with this sort of experience I have came to expect certain things of new releases.. server instability, server downtime, lag, mission/quest bugs... these are things we come to learn to be patient towards and in most cases, sympathetic towards game developers for. However, I've not once experienced something as bad as characters completely vanishing into thin air and realistically, I don't think I'd even expect that in an alpha, let alone beta or a full release.

 

This is very correct. I don't know why people keep saying things like "Come on... It's not even out for a week". I mean loss of progression is totally unacceptable.

I luv how everyone focused on bashing the online gameplay and forget how epic the storvy mode is. i mean they could have released the game without an online or with the same old online as gta 4 and ppl would say 10/10 which is what i give it

I'm taking a break from the game since I've just got done playing the single player campaign twice through, and will check out Online at a later date.

 

Everyone crying and swearing off Rockstar forever will be back here a month from now when all this is resolved.

 

And the biggest video game flop to date is Star Wars: The Old Republic, as stated by someone earlier in this thread. The single player portion alone makes GTA V worth the money.

Bugs are to be expected with a launch like this..yeah sure. But the fact that you can lose your character is just NOT acceptable by any means especially if theres no way they can recover it. This should have been a first priority issue, and the servers should have been shut down until it was solved.

I downloaded it the morning it came out and thusfar have been lucky to have no issues regarding logging in or character loss.

 

If I do then I will simply build another one.

 

But it would be silly to completely take the servers down when a lot of people are accessing the game successfully and having a great time tearing around LS with their crews.

 

Of course we are playing at our own risk and lose any right to moan if our characters become corrupted.

Well the fact the IGN person assigned to cover the Online component is suffering from character deletion should tell you how widespread the problems are, if that's not enough, go check out the comments on the rockstar website. This morning there was around about 2 comments a minute from people with characters getting deleted. If there is a large risk of people's characters vanishing and unlikely that rockstar can restore them, I think temporarily shutting down the servers would have been the professional thing to do until the problems are resolved.

Just read that article and I agree with that editor, playing GTAO now the major problem is data lossing...If can't take the risk, do NOT play the game now, very unstable and very likely you can't recover the data later....

But except for that problem, it's not bad..

The great war of the Online, on the right side we got people against R* and on the left side angry fanboys against people that are against Rockstar.

 

Bullsh*t, the only R* game I loved from my heart is Red Dead Redemption.

So let me get this straight. you dislike rockstar but yet still complaining. if you don't want the game anymore sell it to someone or ebay or something cause i bet after 2-3 weeks you going to be coming back saying "OMG THIS GAME IS AMAZING!" just like all the other complainers out there.
