I haven't been able to join a game with people my level since day 1. After my first reset, my second character got placed in games with level 50's and higher, and I wasn't even level 10. Join a mission? How about a race? Oh cool, Im going to race against a fully modified Adder? awesome....Join a deathmatch? Yeah I totally have a chance with my pistol, I mean, they only have full armor and Assault Rifles. How hard can that be? Okay how about a mission? Oh, nobody wants to play the missions because they don't gain enough XP for my missions? looks like i'll be doing them alone.

 

These were all personally experienced. I had all of these happen to me before I was reset ...A SECOND TIME.

 

So why not play solo? How is that fair that I have to play by myself and lose that +20% and +10% that you got to use consistantly throughout the game?

 

Sure, not everyone used the glitches, but there are tons that did, and by the time we get online, rockstar will have either; shut them down, or decreased their gain, forcing us to play even harder.

 

I'm not saying they should reset everyone, but at this point I would like to see either a level cap online at like 40, a temporary shutdown for anyone above 40, or like a quadruple XP weekend for anyone below 40.

I took the launch week as a holiday from my work so no to a stat reset. The few times I managed to get on I had a blast reaching level 23. For that to be reset now would be slightly annoying. However there is still the impending doom of possibly losing my character in the clouds so . . .. .

That everybody's entire stats should be completely reset when fixed. I was totally against this a week ago, but now I feel it would be the best thing to do. It's hardly fair that we have level 50+'s running around with better everything, whilst level 1's run around with are banana and camper van. Anybody with a rank above 30+, has exploited certain missions (including my self). Wouldn't it be nice for everybody to start fresh when online is fixed?

 

Also, don't come at me with (it isn't an exploit). Gerald has missions that require more work, yet pay out only 3k. So, clearly the farming mission is a little messed up. Only players that have lost their characters will realize how much this game needs a hard reset, so cross your fingers and hope character deletions continue for all farmers, so they can join us, and witness why we should all be sent back to online laugh day. \o/

i would agree but at the same time i wish they would pair high rankers with other high rankers. if they would do that (maybe they already do) i don't see much of a problem

I love the argument that because someone will get the game a month from now, we should reset for them too? That's hilarious. It shows the intelligence level and likely the age as well of the individual.

 

When you purchase a game a month, two months, several months after it's launch, you accept that you're late to the party. That's on you. Whether it's because you were busy during the launch and didn't have time for the game, or you were tight on money and waited for a sale, whatever the circumstance it's on you and you alone.

 

But when people purchase the game at midnight release, and they expect to have a fair chance at the "race" that is competitive online play with leaderboards and rankings, it's kind of f*cked up that Rockstar allowed some players to continue the race while they pretty much scooped up others and brought them back to the start. That is F*CKED UP.

 

Now I'm sure non-competitive players who are currently members of the Lucky Few club are going to say "I don't care about rank and leaderboards etc" well that's good for you. But there are thousands, hundreds of thousands of players, who do. So basically this is what you get: either Rockstar do the right thing and start fresh for everyone, no bugs no exploits no deleting characters, or they willingly allow people to have an unfair advantage in a competitive environment. Taking the latter route will define Rockstar as a bunch of clowns who cannot handle a proper online launch and I hope it dooms their microtransaction plans.

i want to agree with you. but at the same time call me selfish w.e i have a family friends and a job to attend to i am only level 15 i have not done much but i would be mad if i had been wiped clean i don't have much in game let alone any cash but it would be upsetting for me because i don't have a lot of time to game. why should i get punished because others abuse and because you were less lucky than i am? even if people exploit and what and even if high levels were matched with you try to avoid them hit up passive mode get a crew/friends or go to solo mode. there's tons of options for you to avoid those people. it would be ridiculous to restart everyone i don't have time to get back up there and i DO care about leaderboards i would love to be up on the leaerboards because that's what i used to do. i can understand your side as well as others but at the same time there's a lot of gamers like myself and some people who have gotten high levels legitly may not come back because then it's like oh level (insert level here or perk) already got this before it's like watching a movie over and knowing everything that happens it's not satisfying and sometimes tedious and annoying

If Rockstar did this they'd essentially be deleting our characters. Which, from what I've witnessed here and across the net, is something that's caused major discontent amongst players. Introducing XP and money boosts for players under a certain rank is enough. Completely wiping everyone's progress would be idiotic and counter-productive. Don't blame us for being be able to play.

I lost my character and I'm still anti-reset because I don't care that much about a video game that's in its infancy. The people who ranked up did so in a matter of days, it won't be that hard to get back up there.

No, it's not safe to say that. Aside from weapons, someone else's in-game assets have absolutely no effect on your gameplay experience.

 

As a matter of fact, the "usuals" religiously chant on and on about how the grinders are going to get bored of the game due to the monotony and that they're "ruining it for themselves." That said, the "usuals" should simply keep to themselves and play "the way it's meant to be played ". That way, six months from now when the grinders have gotten bored (humoring the argument of the "usuals," of course), the people who played the game "the right way" will be left to play amongst themselves, free from the tyranny of the evil grinders. It's a win-win situation, right? The levels of pathetic around here reach an all-time low, not when you're using an exploit in a video game that has no effect on anyone but yourself, but when you're literally coming to an internet forum to complain about the people using said exploit.

 

I suggest you move the goalposts again, we'll be waiting.

I think its safe to say ...you can expect the following from rockstar;

A week from now Rockstar will announce they are unable to recover your profiles and you should go ahead and start over.

 

But to compensate they will be releasing the Heist DLC free to all players, even the people level 100 and higher.

 

Also it will require 100-300JP to do a heist, so those deleted won't get a chance to play it.
