Did the map meet your expectations?

Exceeded it. The size was pretty much what I expected, but I'm really impressed by the scale of everthing.

 

It's more detailed than I expected it to be, especially the countryside.

This map was a-f*ckin-mazing but I was expecting they would suprise us with an island of some sort. Honestly it might have become a pointless thing to add, an empty island with no people and some animals especially if it would come at the expense of something.

I mean an island with an airport and a few small towns. There should be stuff on that island that isn't on the main island of LS. That would give creedence to flying and boating.

 

So you mean an island that's actually a whole city? What you say sounds like having to boat or cop a plane ticket to get from Frisco to Oakland. Why wouldn't that place simply be connected by a bridge instead so that's why I thought your island idea was to an mostly uninhabited place way off the core map but your idea was actually dumber

No Hawaii, just an island half the size, or less, than San An to land on and explore--that has different vehicles and weapons---stuff like that.

The map itself is very, very good and exceeded my expectations. Slightly bigger than I expected, but the graphics are waaay better that GTA IV with better framerates, draw distances, and lighting. However, there are some small details that would improve it a lot:

 

- more interiors, especially fast food and the airport

- more safehouses/garages

- fix the street names glitch where pressing down on the d-pad gives you the street you just passed, not the street you're on

- add another small town and another airstrip (or another city altogether)

For those of you saying that RDR's map isn't that much smaller than GTA V's, let's use this mystical concept known as perspective.

 

Fastest travel method in RDR: A horse

Typical travel method in GTA V: A f*cking super car.

 

No sh*t GTA V seems smaller and RDR seems bigger when it takes you the half the time to go 10 times the distance in GTA V

Well that is sad / funny that RDR felt so much larger than it actually was if that comparison map is accurate. A true testament to how great of a game it was and how easy it was to be immersed into its world.

There were a lot of things that made it feel bigger, mainly because of how slow horses were, and a biome transition. San Andreas isn't that big of a map either, but it felt like it because of the poor draw distance that separated view of the cities, and fast environments changed. Increase that draw distance, and it breaks the illusion:

It was actually a glitch. The website is working like sh*t for me for the last three weeks and I never bothered fixing it. Do you still feel smart? Well, do ya boy? Socially challenged? I rest my case. You lose all credibility. buh buh
