Does it work now? Like fully, no problems. No deleted characters, no disappearing housesc nothing like that? I tried for the first 4 days to get on this dead awful online and since then haven't even touched it. f*cking terrible support from Rockstar.

I'm going to try again now that its a week later, does it actually work now?

Such a shame it really is. Haven't even been able to play with the crew id set up months before the release.

As you can see, I've made and spent over 1 million dollars, have my stats up there pretty good, and I'm level 36. That takes time (with only minimal grinding of VD)

 

I did lose one apartment I bought early on, but that's it.

Well, only issue I had was the "character deletion" thing, and after I waited a bit, I got my character back. Some people have had worse luck than I, from what I can tell...

Guy's One of my crew lost his Charicter and started again But was only LVL10 with $38.000, But we think it was because he got impatient and created another, which then deleted his original, I lost mine last night after a full days Thugery and from 10.00am till 6.00pm we had great fun it worked sweetly all day. then we got froze out could not join up with each other and My error page kept saying Rockstar server unable to find Charicter, So I said my good byes and called it a day LVL 18 £118.000, HOPEING i had not lost my Character. And sure enough jumped out of bed before work hopeing he would be there thismorning....and HE WAS, already to go tonight ..But ONLY IF ROCKSTAR's server's are up and running. I work at one of the Top Universities as IT and even our servers go down from time to time, and we werent hit by Millions of gamer's at the same time this game has gone beyond all expectations.

I see its still as big as problem as it was 3-4 days ago which kind of sucks.

I'll try again today and if it doesn't work I'm just going to stay on single play and take my online self to battlefield 4.

ive pretty much given up now,been through the tutorial 5 times now,it all works fine until i try to do missions,races etc then just keeps timing out,& my character always disappears,cant be bothered anymore ill keep on this forum & see if the probs are fixed but im guessing that could be a very long time,a shame because from what i saw it looked pretty good.

I haven't heard a single person who never lost anything. But you are very lucky I'll give you that. Enjoy the game hope yours don't get deleted like rest of the people

True. I was a little miffed for a while, but I honestly got over it pretty quickly. Mostly when I bought a better place and it's stuck around. Although, to be fair, it took me a while to build up the courage (and money) to buy another apartment.

 

Point is, I don't blame Rockstar. I blame typical launch issues with a game that's populated by millions of people. It's like a Black Friday sale... in the mad rush, some people get trampled and some doors get knocked off the hinges.
