CorporalBean675
Yeah Austraayyyliah banned GTA III didn't they? So who's to say that they didn't do the same for some of the other GTA games (expect not the whole game but rather only some features). But I could be wrong, just like the next guy who may come here to explain all his theories.

No you are wrong, the Aussie GTA V is the unedited/uncut version. We have an R18+ rating now.
Scumbaggah
I do the blood spurting burnouts all the time, I live in Sydney. I wouldn't be surprised if we got a soft version just like Last Of Us.
LaDispute
Uncut, blood spray on tyres happens on mine, sometimes it doesn't, happens on all versions, people need to stop over-reacting the rating system here we barely ban anything, regardless since our new rating systems we have had games re-released uncensored, everythings fine, and untouched on GTAV Edited October 7, 2013 by LaDispute
Shaundi.
Since we have an R18+ Restricted rating, I can say GTA 5 is unedited. On the other hand, Saints Row 4 couldn't qualify for R18+ Restricted, lelel.

The whole of Europe got that version, and the only thing edited was multiplayer violence not singleplayer, but the multiplayer seems to have been patched and the same all over now. ColePhelps27
It's not edited. The blood spatter/tire thing works on mine. III wasn't banned here. Manhunt was, which is funny since I've seen it for sale at EB. Edited October 7, 2013 by ColePhelps27
Algonquin Assassin
Why did they ban Saints Row but not V? Lol SRIV wasn't banned. It's been censored and now has a MA 15+ rating whilst GTA V is R18.

XAIKON
Australia's ratings board has no problem with excessive violence... in SRIV it was the fact you could use the alien anal probe weapon that caused it to be refused classification, as it was classed as "sexual violence" which earns any game an immediate ban. Nevermind we have sex and rape in movies that are rated M15+, but we cant have an obviously fictitious alien anal probe in a R18+ video game! I am obviously australian too, and I get no blood splatter either!
Ash_735
The blood splat effect is kinda 50/50, the Aus version is Uncut, same as EU version, but yeah, it's just the game being picky about surfaces to do that effect on.
sonic_blue
in SRIV it was the fact you could use the alien anal probe weapon that caused it to be refused classification, as it was classed as "sexual violence" which earns any game an immediate ban. Nevermind we have sex and rape in movies that are rated M15+, but we cant have an obviously fictitious alien anal probe in a R18+ video game! The difference is that movies portray it, whereas games promote it. Portrayal vs promotion. You can't argue it doesn't promote sexual violence it if it's awarding you some points, reward or encouragement for doing it. On the other hand if the game offers no incentive for raping other players anally in the game then there is no reason it should be banned as it would only be a portrayal of such acts. Also such games are not themselves banned, only the sale of them is banned. It is not against the law to possess such a game. Also you cannot sell a movie that promotes sexual violence either, or even just regular violence, which is why extreme religious propaganda videos to "kill infidels" are against the law. Promoting crime is itself a crime, I wish more people could tell the difference. And no, Mario stomping on the heads of fictitious creatures doesn't promote crime because those creatures don't even exist in reality, and even if they did it's not a crime to kill an animal (but it is a crime to torture one...so if the game promoted torturing of animals then it would be banned, and rightly so). The issue is not black and white like you think. inb4 "muh freedom" Edited October 7, 2013 by sonic_blue
thieves
Why did they ban Saints Row but not V? Lol Because jamming a 4 foot long alien dildo up someone arse against someones will constitutes rape in Australia, which, as is the case with drug use, may not be glamorized in games ( and other media), nor may it be portrayed as something overly positive. That doesn't mean rape / drug use cannot be featured at all, it just has to be in justifiable context. Sounds good and fair enough to me as an Australian gamer. All non sexual violence is an automatic go nowadays though, so all is good.
