Preventing replay on missions means they want you to BUY CASH

Would you rather see people replaying the same missions over and over or just open up daddy's credit card to buy unlimited amounts of cash?

I think it's lame that people are crying because people are grinding, especially when one could just purchase any amount of in game cash with real money and not even play the damn game. I hate pay2win, would prefer to grind.

How is grinding these missions any different than grinding the same areas over and over in any MMO/ARPG games? They obviously are trying real hard to become an MMO, so why try to prevent grinding? makes no sense except that they probably want to encourage you to use your credit card.

I agree with you completely its stupid that they are trying so hard to prevent grinding especially when they have way more important stuff to worry about right now

Agreed, sorta.

If R* disables "Replay", I am gonna be hella pissed, because that means they are pulling an "EA" and forcing microtransactions in-game.

This is exactly what I just made a thread about. What is so bad about replaying missions? I don't get why so many people are crying when they could go do it themselves.. And it's bullsh*t they patched replaying on some missions cus that just proves they want you to buy money.. Like wtf $1billion dollars in sales in three days wasn't enough for them? GREEDY BASTARDS

You can still replay any mission by hitting RT after you've voted on it.

Yea but the downside is you can't stock up on ammo/health from the menu you gotta go to an ammunation once the mission starts.

Yeah unfortunately this looks like the route they're taking.

I can't imagine they'll make that much off of cash cards though, I mean will it really be worth it? The billions they've made will probably trump and profit made from cash cards.

Good news is the stock market and heists should make it easier for people to earn cash legit.

Or, conversely, take and use the guns of the dead people you kill. That's what I do. They usually have pretty good stuff.

OP is right only if they will not have any missions at a certain level and/or not enough money to be had at each level, kinda sorta.

That's pretty much it. You see how fast they reacted to pacthing that replay button in Violent Duct? Less than 24 hours after it was discovered, even though they had MUCH bigger problems to worry about like characters getting deleted, server problems, bugs etc... It's simply because the main reason for GTA Online is to milk money from kids. Luckily the retards forgot to patch the 'restart' button, and they couldn't do anything over the weekend. Serves them right.

They aren't forcing anything.

For starters, you can still replay missions.

Secondly, you can still level up and make money without cash exploits or purchasing in-game cash.

Thirdly, Money makes almost zero difference to the gameplay in GTAO.

You are right on the forcing you to buy cash, thats wrong, but milking the missions in online crew has STOPPED, on the last patch, we can no longer replay the £9000 missions we loved .UNLESS Gerald phones them through. Great stuff I would never buy online dosh, did'nt do it in WOW, no need here. cheats Only revert to buying cash..

They should fix the game first, so we can actually play it without losing everything.

Then worry about their micro transactions.

Argued religiously against micro transactions on currency before the online was out, as it should be obvious to anyone with half a brain that the basic currency grind is going to be made as sh*t as possible to promote it.

I knew they would be greedy, I am just shocked that with how terrible the game is this is one of the first things they patch...

I agree, but for the record, this isn't a pay to win scenario. Cash on the outset will get you an apartment and all that, but won't advance you any faster.

ofcourse they want you to buy cash cards

they're not making them not to sell them

I think it kind of sucks because you do notice loads of stuff in game that is kind of unnatainable with the little money you get from jobs (especially with the cost of dying) and I'm just constantly reminded of the whole micro transaction shenenigans, kind of takes you out of the game

so I've decided not to worry about money or buying stuff too much

it's kind of a shame to see rockstar go this route but what can you do

perhaps it's inevitable

I agree with this. I personaly hate to grind, but if other people want to do that with their time, its their bussiness.

A simple truth about gaming, if something proves to be effective, it well get used repeatedly. The problem is this WoW attitude of "I wan't to walk around looking all prestigous with my millions so I can look down on all the poor peons who are much lower to feel good about myself" attitude. Seriously, what other people have or don't have, and do or don't do with their free time is thier own bussiness and none of yours.

Or they want you to just play the game properly. It's possible to make monry without farming. You just can't make it fast enough to buy everything in ine day, which is what you ADD kiddies want.

If we had such a broad and varied amount of missions to do I would be on your side.

The fact even in early 30s you end up doing the same missions you have been doing since level 10 for $2000... If you want to progress level wise in this game pretty much every option is dull and repetitive, why not take the route that is fastest? I haven't farmed VD at all and only had it pop once, but at this point I'd rather get to level 75 and have all the missions unlocked to spice up the variety.

How does it mean they're forcing micro transactions upon everyone? They're forcing you to actually play the game and play different missions instead of rinsing and repeating one mission over and over to get cash.

With 500+ missions, u really want to sit there grinding one missions lol, thats a bit lame.

The longer this character deletion crap goes on, the less likely people will be to trust R^ with their real money in this game. i was on the fence about buying a $100k card with a few $ i have in my XBL account leftover from buying a 2400 point card for the Need for speed most wanted addon several months back. i had contemplated using it for some GTA$ but after losing 2 characters and over 30 hrs of progress, i'm pretty sure i won't be buying any GTA$.

No,

Disabling replay of missions means replay of those missions are disabled . There are no other intentions or implications. While you are stuck here whining about the latest and greatest exploit/perceived nerf I will be playing the game ranking up and getting rich in a legit fashion.

Have fun.

The only people that seem to have a problem with this are the ones who can't play or are losing their characters. The thought that other players are in game leveling up and making millions makes them bitter.

This game is similar to an MMO even right down to what the developers will fix first. In any MMO the developer will always fix anything that works in the players favor first. Also the games economy or lack there of is designed around the micro transactions, apologist can challenge this but it would be rather stupid to do so.

What did you expect? This is a full on MMO, this is how they expect to make money for the next year or two. Of course they want you to buy cash. Shame because lots of players are just giving up on this and going to BF4.

Don't get me wrong, BF4 sucks too.

Why would they disable this function? They clearly programmed a restart function when creating the game. Plus, they know that for people to progress to the higher levels, they MUST replay the missions, just like you had to do with Red Dead -- and you had to replay those many many many times to hit some of their goals. Not allowing a repeat of missions would defeat the purpose of the entire system.
