R* have enough problems with customer satisfaction without wiping everyone's progress. Simply put, it will never happen, period. No one is that stupid as to alienate their entire fan base for so little reason.

 

For the record I'm lv 62 currently (thanks to Violent Ducts) and I still intend to spend at least $20 on the store when microtransactions are reinstated (I can afford it and I want more content, best way to make sure that's happens is to make sure R* keeps making money). Farming will not stop people from buying cash cards, not many anyway.

Even if there was a chance your character might be restored later in the week? I'm suffering from the character delete/ear defender reset as well but instead of wanting a friggin server reset im just gonna be patient till R* sorts their sh*t out.

 

 

Even if there was a chance of getting my rank 45 character back a week from today, yep I would still prefer a total reset. I was basically told "sorry, f*ck your weekend you can't play." because I am not going to start a new character over my original one's slot since Rockstar haven't said f*ck all about the process of restoration. So basically my choice was either definitely say f*ck off to my 46 hours wasted on my original character and make a new one this weekend, be days (literal days) behind in-game time to my friends and competitors....... or, I say okay Rockstar do a full reset so everyone has a fair start. Did I choose to have mine or anyone else's character deleted? No. So why should those affected be told "sorry your problem" when it was NOT our choice to deal with this? Everyone should be under the same roof that Rockstar provides. The people coming out of this thing unscathed are getting almost preferential treatment status, just not selectively. In a competitive environment, it's complete bullsh*t.

 

 

TL:DR = Yes I'd gladly sacrifice my rank 45 character for a total reset just to have an even playing field for all.

ya'know JUST today my character was deleted.. lvl 11 & had 2k in bank. i played TDM & DM. i bought ammo & armor & guns. got off to take a break.. came back on... he was gone.. so i got off til cloud was back on.. & he was still gone. & i had free time so i said, f*ck it im makin a new 1. now im lvl 9, 24k in my bank.. from stores, missions, TDH DH & Races

Not a chance.

 

Blowback from everyone being reset to 0 would be orders of magnitude greater than the blowback from some people having to start again while their friends are already levelled up.

 

You gotta remember that for most, the online is working fine. Not to say there aren't problems, there are. But just as an example, I've been playing the online since day 2 and apart from the odd time-out, its been rock solid. Same for most of my friends (1 out of a group of 6 mates playing this has had his character deleted so far).

so u want all of the people that still have their first character to feel like u. I have done races constantly everyday since gta online came out. My character is level 44 n has a 286,000 apartment n has 500,000 left. I don't think people that worked so hard on their character should have to suffer cause of rockstars mistake. I don't see the point in a wipe (other than some sort of vendetta against everyone who hasn't had issues). Do you think it has ruined your chance to be the highest ranked player or something? Who cares? No matter how hard you try, there will always be some lifeless fatass in a basement somewhere playing the game 24/7 who is 50 ranks higher than you, lol.

Also, to those people who exploit and cheat let me explain something to you. This game is ABOUT making money. That's the whole point. To feel a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment when you buy a shiny car or a purty apartment. As people mature and lose that need to have INSTANT GRATIFICATION we start to understand its about the journey not the end. So when you are level 999 and you have every car and the best apartment you are the ones who come into the forum yelling GTA ONLINE SUCKS THERE IS NOTHING TO DO!!! Just some advice.

What exploits are you refering to? As far as I know Violent Duct is a mission, a mission that people play over and over to get money. This is called grinding and farming. Since when was grinding and farming a bannable offense?

The character deletion has NOTHING to do with your sh*tty, out of date, about to die, HDD. It's an unrelated server error that causes the character deletion. DUMBASS.

they wont reset it, they will patch the exploits though, and probs just tone down mission rewards, like 1k instead of 9k for those missions. they have to make cash cards viable and if people can rack up 500k in a few hours boosting, they ain't gonna stand for that

And I've lost over $1.5 million in cars and apartments, not to mention 10 levels stolen off my characters rank, so I know something about losing stuff in this game. If so I wouldnt play it at all... I spend 1 hour creating my 3rd Character with this cheap creator.( after the first wasnt saved and the second couldnt go through the tutorial)
