I hit the retry button my character still shows on socialclub website.

Yes mine did too and then I re logged back in and then my character was gone from the social club website. However I still have money in the bank? ....

I thought creating a new character overwrites your old character.

By creating a new characer you have wiped your old character. Its gone for good.

 

There is enough info on this forum, why ever would you create a new char? R* themselves say that it will be a temporary character and it will not save...
