Tennis and Golf are legit. Anything else is going to require flexibility in roleplaying, like running a car lot (pick a random parking lot) and randomly sell cars from there and roleplay it is your lot and it ain't a crime.

I'm trying to role play as an honest business woman who moved to Los santos so she could live by the water ( I put no hours into illegal activity, just 8 in sleep, 4 in working out, 4 in spending time with friends, and 8 in working legally.) I don't want to have to rob stores or make drug deals or street race to get money! They should make actual careers like office work or fast food or retail, like I could actually run a clothing shop and if a player tried to rob me I would bust a cap in their ass!

Races with traffic off will have more of a closed street feel than full on street race, especially if the course is made to look like a track or rally course

lol today some guy tried to kill me being as a cop roleplayer. He shooted me first and I thought he is a friendly dude and just having fun around with a cop car but no... I killed him three times after this. So annoying these cop roleplayers

Trying to earn cash via legal means in the game is a challenge, and nothing wrong with playing that way. That is part of the beauty of the game - it allows you to play in your own way. And by trying a different approach to the usual crime based stuff, why not?

 

It is hard though, and perhaps maybe entailing a loose interpretation of legal or not at times. For example racing. Yes many of the races would be illegal in reality. But you could pick a select few races, set traffic off, who's to say you cannot role play as a race driver (pro or amateur) who is taking part in some sort of racing series legitimately allowed by Los Santos and held in the streets of the city? There are such races in reality (Monaco Gp springs to mind).

 

Sporting activities don't pay unless you bet on each other, that can be looked at as legal too.

 

The good behaviour bonus adds up, think of that as a wage from whatever business you want to role play as.

 

If someone made their role play character police officer then it opens up a few more ways - gang attacks can be seen as a police raid for example.

 

It is really just a case of imagination. You aren't going to earn heaps by just waiting for the good behaviour, although it is a challenge to do so.

I want to be able to own the businesses from single player when online in free mode eg. car impound for towing missions, sonar dock for underwater missions, Air field for smuggling missions. They'd give you tasks and be a way of making money legally or illegally, depending on which you owned.

It doesn't work online. Personally I like the idea of doing honest work. I think we should be allowed to buy businesses like in SP but also proper careers like train driver and pilot. I'm annoyed they did away with the police, ambulance and fire careers the old GTA's had. The only legit work I can think of is taxi driver which pays ok but it will take a long time to get rich making a few hundred a time.
