Lets be honest, GTA ONLINE should've Launched October 17th Instead

Serever issues, characters being deleted, just problems galore left and right for most online players.

 

They should've made a Public Beta that came with GTA V, and made the official launch 1 month after. This, this is just an utter mess that screams "QUICK CASH GRAB (Not because the online is bad, it's really really fun. It was just put up so quick without proper review)

They Said its gonna have Problems .. why people cant understand ? u want a beta ? treat this like a beta already .. because 14 mil Person in launch day of GTA ONLINE is too goddamn much .. They said they will try their best to solve everything and now the servers are better

 

i got My Characters deleted once because it was my mistake just like everybody else which is playing with cloud not working at the end ur character wont save Obviously ! i only play when no cloud error message pops up because than ik i can save my progress and not begin deleted

 

They also added their email to contact for the problems cauz as i and they said it will have problems and they will solve it

There is only one way to stress test and beta test the servers effectively. And we are doing that right now. If they waited until the 17th most the same crap would happen.

 

Also they took a gamble with using the cloud, majority of the issues lie in cloud problems.

This date makes perfect sense, plus it's my birthday. Rockstar should have considered this. The month of Rocktober, the same date Bully was released...

Mate, they had 2 weeks and a billion dollars to throw at this problem. It;s not that hard to allow for client-side character saving and renting extra servers for a few weeks. Saying that there's going to be problems at launch is different from the truth that it's nigh-unplayable.

I just feel really bad for the high level guys who had their characters vanish. My highest was 13 and that was still a pile of work to get there.

 

Two guys gone today (level 13 this morning & level 5 this evening) is enough for me. Im done until either my guys come back & system is stable, or R* releases a statement saying restoring isnt possible but system is stable. Had a good 20 hours logged which is now gone. Luckily my banked money stayed put. For now........

What were doing from sprin til now? It was delayed twice and they will couldn't make a decently running game.

Would have made no difference.

 

When the servers weren't overloaded the GTAO ran perfectly before any updates.

Problems with servers weren't visible until they were fully loaded.

 

I'm disappointed Rockstar didn't ace it, but they're doing a good job of sorting crap out. I'd have rather played since the 1st than be guaranteed perfection on the 17th.

 

Edit: as for beta, what could've been good is setting the launch to a later date like you suggested BUT letting anyone go through settings to enable it for testing. So you'd get the worldwide server load, but no bitching if it went bad because it's 'in testing'.

That would not have solved anything, you cannot stress test the MILLIONS of people coming to play all on October 1st, Instead, October 17th. So what's the point.
