I have gotten that error many times and i press circle and i still have my character my friend pressed x and he got his level 25 character deleted. It clearly says continue without saving at the bottom of the error when you press continue your character gets deleted. And yes i am stupid. Logged on the next day and it brought me straight to the creation selection screen. Character gone. No prompts. No warning errors etc. However now it shows how much money I have on the creation screen so I'm holding out that maybe things will get fixed and my guy will show back up.
