Docks?

I bought a boat, don't remember which one (it was the 22k one) because I figured it would save between sessions considering I couldn't find a dock to purchase like there are in singleplayer. It didn't, but it wasn't too expensive - though did I just blatantly waste the money? Is there any reason at all to get a boat online? What's the point in buying the 200k boats if it's only for one session and then it's gone?

I'm pretty sure you can purchase docks. I read a thread about it but haven't actually tried it yet. But even then it has limited uses I expect.

I'd hope that after the first 500 posts about characters being deleted that R* would know about it. We don't need the entire front page to be people complaining about it, haha.
