If you are trying to access GTA Online and Rockstar Cloud Servers are unavailable, please exit to GTAV Story Mode and try entering GTA Online again through the Pause menu in Story Mode. We will be issuing a title update that will fix this issue as soon as possible.

If my character gets deleted I wouldn't care, she's only a level 6. I'm not dumb enough to keep trying to level my character up knowing about the cloud problem.

I actually have never pressed retry since day 1/2 when chars were gettin deleted every 5 mins. I actually said to friends not to retry (incase it didnt save to server, grinding for no reason), turns out it was good advice after all lol. Been very tempted to today though, soooo glad i havent.

probably for future use. Retry is only there if you timed out, so it's probably meant for when the servers are stablized.

This, exactly this. They did the exact same thing with the Cash Cards in the first 48 hours of launch.

 

They new the servers were causing problems deleting peoples chars/money ect. But instead of simply not allowing people to buy the cards, they were warning people on their site not to buy them like every single person who has the game constantly checks their site for updates. People were buying them and losing money smh.
