I've never seen a retry option on my PS3 copy of GTA-O

There may be some truth in this as I just bought a comet, modded it and drove it for roughly an hour whilst doing missions, dropped back to single player before going back to multi and hammering the sh*t out of x to retry and now my comet has f*cked off without a trace.

mate the whole game is f**d I bought an apartment and a car AFTER the so-called update both have disappeared and so have my levels my advice is wait at least another 3 or 4 days before you attempt to go back online... personally, I'm done

definitely true, i hit the retry button 1 time 2day and it put me straight onto the menu too choose a character but no characters and its gone from social club so definitely do not press that button

Seriously guys? Do you not know how missions work?

 

You download them from Rockstar servers onto your HDD, when you retry, you don't have to download (you just load)

 

Technically you could do a mission once - the servers go down - then you could do it a hundred times while they are down.

 

Also they only said character data, they didn't say character. You should still have you character and all their data from before the server went down.

yes it's definetly there, but I've only seen it once myself.

 

I think it was when I switched to online whilst the game was still loading, sometimes the option isn't even available

yeah its not something thats gonna happen every time but if you press that button, even just once like i did, then you run the risk of losing your character

Is this the same for offline ( play solo ) mode? When I load solo it asks if I want to retry and I get in straight after that

Diablo 3 was almost a flawless launch compared to this, if my memory is good everything was 90% fine after 3 days right? Even SimCity was doing good after 5 days, but this my friend, is one of the worst launch of gaming history, glad we have a full single player experience that is worth 60$ at least..

I wouldn't worry about it, folks.

 

I read this topic before I tried logging on this evening. I saw that retry button there, and I didn't press it. I pressed O instead, and then tried again myself.

 

Then everything work just fine--I have no characters any longer.

 

I can only hope they come back, otherwise I'm just going to come back to this game when they figure out how to keep things going.

The cloud seems to be working again I just got online, however it's glitchy.

 

I experienced a glitch that made my car drive unusually slowly, so I switched sessions and then this happened...

Swimming under land, unable to move but not drowning either.

 

Turns out I wasn't even in a session, I got the game back to normal by starting GTA Online from pause menu.

Yes it most certainly is true....sigh .. exactly what the above post said. However on the social club website it says i have 85,769 in the banks which is what my character had before she went into Cloud Land......i duno :cry:

One of many reasons, but for sure a major one, when the cloud is down people overwrite their character without knowing.

They didnt say it happenes every tiem idiot, LMAo go back to school and learn to read. its one of the most likely many causes.

 

Pressing retry and playing when the servers are down is the cause, not pressing retry. Dumbass.

I used this retry button for the first time yesterday when my character was deleted and it got my character back. I have lost maby 5 characters before. And if this is the cause why do R* not change the "retry" button to "delete character" button? Weird of R* to say not to use a feature they have put in the game.
