GTA Online data transfer

Is it possible to transfer/copy my GTA Online status data to my PS3's HDD to avoid having issues with my levels and such things?

No, and this is the problem with cloud servers. They're advertised as being so great, but we can see how much trouble they're going to be in the future as everything else gravitates towards them.

Nobody knows, I've lost a rank 15 (my first character) and a rank 27 (my second character) in 2 days.

Ye having done computer science one of the main problems is one bit in a cloud file can corrupt the whole thing. Thats why clouds are normally a backup method and there are normally two clouds. One backup and one main - so if a bit is detected as missing it uses the backup and overwrites the main.

 

I personally worry that rockstar don't even have basic computing knowledge

I'm not sure what it is at this point. One thing's for sure however, it's definitely not a lack of funds that are holding them back. Lol.

I'm currently afk on the single player mode and in the bottom right corner there's been a thing spinning for like over 30 minutes saying "Loading GTA Online Profile Stats".

I hate to say it, but I've been doing nothing but trying to play and camping these forums for days, I've just seen my #4 character get deleted, and I have yet to see any of them come back regardless of slot usage or time spent waiting.

 

I think the characters are wiped for good. In the chance I am wrong, I am not making anymore until they okay it (if they do ever communicate with us beyond a bot response).

Yeah, they said they were working on restoring our characters, they said it again today. None of mine have restored.

 

I wouldn't think it would be so difficult to filter who's had characters deleted and who hasn't, especially people with like 100k in the bank but rank 0 according to Rockstar. How could that possibly make sense lol.

 

I have 1 million dollars earned, 28 Wins 10 losses in races, a 1 TDM game won, 3 parachuting won, but 0 of everything else. Wtf lol

I had lost a level 17 character with Apt and garage, also the guns were gone. I reloaded one time and i came with level 16 and still not my property. So i'm fairly reloading multiple times to see if i can restore my things. But now i can't even connect to the rockstar cloud. I'm fairly disappointed with the server issues. They should have been prepared, specially if money is not the issue.

 

Cloud only is a mistake. It should be only used as back as backup like Josh said. Even though a HDD can overheat, there's still multiple ways to preserve my data if i hold it myself. My things should be taken care by me not a inefficient cloud server

Now i got full loss...just takes me to character creation screen. I'm afraid of not recovering now >_<
