Edit: TL;DR I was ranting at how people who are doing things that would be considered being in bad sport, (Like spawn camping a level 3) actually receive no penalty, while legitimate acts are seen as bad. (Like hunting a bounty or defending yourself.)

 

 

 

 

 

Thanks for that R*. Thanks for this horribly broken system of yours... I was doing things YOU told me to do! Every few seconds, you kept requesting to get the high priority export vehicle, eliminate the player with the bounty on his head, C4 the armored truck, etc, etc, etc.... Smh. You would send me texts and call me every 5 minutes about this stuff...

 

Now I either have to play by myself, or with a server full of assholes. And these are the literal assholes. The ones speaking in a very condescending racist tone, or that really annoyingly obnoxious voice. "Ohhh, did I blow up your prwetty little bike?" (He says after he rocket launched your bike as you pulled out of an LS customs.) Waaah, waaaah, pussie pussie pussie pussie pussie." "You're a fa**ot!" "f*ck YOU ni**erS." While they go around the map griefing each other in any way possible, you'd almost think you were watching a group of prepubescent teens playing a death match in CoD together, the screaming, the "LOLOLOLOLOL PHAGGOOOT!" etc,...

 

I've been thrown in with this lot for, A. defending myself, B, removing a high export vehicles escort, (HOW was I supposed to know that, that grey, rusty, unmodified 70's caddy, and brown generic four wheeler, were those twos personal insured vehicles? They looked like jack pick ups!) and C4 an amoured truck. Apparently that's bad somehow... Oh, oh, and God forbid I actually have to leave during a mission for any reason, that was the one that gave me this ridiculous dunce hat for the next 2 days... Guess I gotta play by myself for next couple of days. What is this? My Little Pony? It's called Grand Theft Auto for a reason, we're no moral criminals in a world full of drugs and prostitution. Am I just supposed to ride around in passive mode and hope I don't even so much as look at another player? Oh, and those hospital bills... Can't chase down that guy with a bounty in that cargobob in some kind of epic air chase, might be his personal vehicle, (Or he might kill you, negate the bounty price) already saw a guy with an Annihilator flying around. Can't jump off a building for fun, that will cost you 2k in hospital bills, can't have an impromptu bike race with shotguns, that'll cost tens of thousands in medical bills, no more random good times with people... I get 2k per 15-20m mission, and I can die in an instant, then spawn right next to the guy who killed me, and loose even more money before I manage to escape... Why doesn't he get a bad sport stat? No, but I do for defending myself after he costs me 10k in medical bills...

 

It's like my thread I made earlier raging about this, I do LEGITIMATE, in-game things, and I'm the asshole R*? If someone runs me down over and over again while I'm in passive mode, you God damn right I'm going to pull out a grenade, and blow them up. If someone has the 10k export car, and they have an escort, you Goddamn right I"m going to get rid of it, I don't need a couple of Banshees up my ass while I'm trying to earn some money, and lastly, really, for the first offense? I could see if I left missions constantly, but not the first time... They need to remove bad sport ratings from personal vehicle damage, I mean yeah, I can see making you pay the insurance fee to replace it, but don't re-input the bad sport stat until you have a better system. And last but not least, give lenience to mission drops. Sometimes my game's too laggy to play, sometimes it drops, sometimes I have to take a ragging sh*t, and don't want to be a burden on my team. (Being the last one alive, in a protected place, so they can't win nor lose the match, and have to quit.)

 

(While sitting here typing this, I got a call from Simeon, Ron, 2 from Lester... "Get the cars for me!" "Get those crates!" "Why aren't you using the bounty system Nef? Huh? HUH?" *Lester leans in real close*

You're justified to rant. however. I believe the good sport and bad sport thing
is a "bar" of sorts.
think of it as a leveling up bar. if you're a bad sport, then its all empty, however if you'rea good sport it'll fill.
continue to play missions by yourself in friends only sessions or something and get some "good sport" points. maybe that'll increase your standing. otherwise I suggest you report this to rockstar and they can revise their system. I already complain to them before.

This game pretty much blows online. The 500 or so missions rockstar claimed would be available from launch. are boring as f*ck and the payout isn't worth the time. Nothing Rockstar really promised, has worked out or been true. Not sure why you are surprised that it would be full of assholes. Welcome to the world of online gaming.

OP I agree with you 100% miss the good times where you didn't mind dying. Cost so much and trying to save is bs when you have that happen. Yes you fight back etc however you get a bad sport. The server went on me and I got a bad sport for leaving the mission! Wasn't my fault!

Ahhhh I know, it just grittles my patties if you know what I mean. I watch some guy spawn camp a level 3, who's trying to buy his first shirt, and nothing comes of it. Someone sticks a C4 to a bounty's car and waits for them to return to it, and they're a bad sport... This system really needs a re-work of sorts.

He's kind of right, I had a guy last night who kept blowing up my personal vehicle and running me over. I call him an asshole over chat and he literally does what you mentioned "Awwww deeed I huuurt your wettle caaar?". Fast forward 10 minutes later he's chasing me and a friend down and I somehow hit his gas tank and his car blows up ... I get labeled a bad sport.

Out of all the repetitive missions I've played, a few were slightly different and kind of fun, but most are just the usual, "Drive to point A. Kill enemies at point A. Return "X" item to point B. after enemies at A. are dead." style of mission.

To alleviate that, I've literally been playing with $0 in my bank. If I need money, I just sell a car to LS customs quick, or rob a few stores in quick succession. I just really wish they would either get rid of the medical bills, or have my bank account actually be secure. I miss the stupid pointless fun we would have in GTA IV. Sticky bomb on a heli and wait for your friend anybody? Now you would be labeled as a bad sport, have to pay for his new heli, and he'd also have to pay 2k in medical bills... That's not fun! That's a dick move if you do it now...

I mean, you get a warning if you're driving your friends vehicle and accidentally destroy it, even if you're both in the Vehicle BUT it does mean that the assholes that you've mentioned do end up in a hellish server where many of us don't wish to go..

My guess is R* have a few kinks to work out, things that aren't supposed to label players as bad sports are doing so, remember R* have also said that this will be constantly evolving (GTA Online) and they still are a very respectable company (despite all the crying from others) who are good at what they do, I'm sure they'll fix it over the next few months.
