Add Cricket to GTA Online

We're just talking to each other. Sure, some of the ideas may be far fetched, but we are just a bunch of GTAO Players who happen to be passionate about cricket and would love to see it added. There is nothing sinister about it.

 

The original goal is to flesh out as many of the mechanics as possible so Rockstar can pick and choose from an already assembled array of ideas and add the best of them to the finished project.

 

I don't see anything wrong with Swagman's 12th man idea. The golf cart is already in game. The beer drinking is already in game. The talking on the mic is already in game. The morale system has already been described at length in this thread and the goal is to make it so even spectating players and umpires have enough to do that it is fun for everyone.

 

But are Rockstar picking and choosing ideas from whats being discussed?

 

If you have information that show's Rockstar is looking to add cricket to GTA then this thread is 100% valid and the level of detail is appropriate.

 

If you are putting forward the idea to have cricket in the game and there is zero indication that Rockstar is going to implement it then the level of detail is not appropriate for a general GTA forum. What would be appropriate would be to take the very finer details offline, thrash them out amongst yourselves and then come back and publish in one big hit...not 41 pages of constructive and not so constructive dialogue.

 

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for adding as much as possible to GTA but the detail of whats being discussed is getting a bit thick if its not being considered at all by Rockstar.

 

 

Yes, it has been mentioned multiple times in this thread about how Rockstar has seen this. We've also had two professional cricketers chime in. Did you read the thread?

 

As for your comment about "Take the finer details offline", you could make the same comment about every single thread on this forum. This is a place to discuss GTAO and brainstorming is a valid topic, full stop. Would you prefer to derail the thread by constantly nitpicking at the validity of the thread in your eyes, or would you rather A) Contribute about Cricket in GTAO or B) Just ignore it and move along since the thread literally impacts you in absolutely no way unless you click into it and read it?

I'm not sure why you are concerned about how many pages this thread has, it is still only one thread. I could understand if there were 41 separate threads discussing adding cricket to GTA but since there is only one thread I don't know why you are worried about the level of detail those interested in adding the game would like to discuss.

Rockstar seeing this thread and Rockstar considering implementing anything that's being discussed are very different things. You may accuse me of derailing this thread but I'm accusing you of derailing the forum.

 

This forum is a place to put forward suggestions and ideas...100% agree with that...but there comes a point where the level of detail is too low level and that some individual ideas will be perceived by many of the other hundreds of forum readers as farcical or trolling.

 

What is happening now is constant attacks on the ideas being put forward and insults hurled because you're using a general public forum to discuss finer details of a proposal that in all likelihood will never happen.

 

I can't contribute to your discussion because it isn't about GTAO...its about your fantasy about having cricket in GTAO.

 

As there is no evidence its ever going to happen it is now about the popularity of cricket or foreign relations between various countries - which again is not about GTAO.

You've got golf and tennis. Neither of which are American in origin. Darts probably isn't American either.

We've linked quite a few cricket clubs and associations across the country to prove to people just like you that Cricket is as American as can be (Considering the diverse ethnic backgrounds that populate the USA today). Please check back through the previous 40 pages and you'll see many of these links.

 

In my city alone there are 3 leagues. In my league, there are three tiers, and each tier has 12 full teams in it.

 

This whole "Cricket is not played in the USA" thing has already been busted in this thread.

Just because a bunch of foreigners play a game that they dragged with them from their sh*thole countries and refuse to let go when they get to OUR country does NOT make it an American game. Cricket is not American. Cricket is british and the vast majority of real AMERICANS don't give a sh*t about it.

 

So what if Americans don't play criket or it isn't all that popular? GTA is sold all over the world, not just in America, where active sports are played. Maybe you'd like the sports to be limited to NASCRAP and what we call rugby but you lot, for reasons that the rest of the world will never understand, call it American Football with ad breaks every 5 minutes?.

 

The game has golf in it and that is not an American game. I believe it is Scottish. Tennis is believed to originate from France and darts from (most likely) England so by your logic they should be inculded.

 

Oh, and one more thing, GTA was developed by a Scottish company which most certainly ain't American. Have a nice day.

I've seen numerous invites for tennis when I've been on. I don't indulge but others clearly do. It does no harm to have the option there. I mean would it cause you mental turmoil to have cricket in the game? Live and let live dude.

I read through the thread and have to say, there are some fantastic ideas that have been thought up. You guys have been burning the midnight oil on this one despite the negativity which, lets face it, is expected on GTAF.
