Do all of you guys think we'll need a mechanic for the batsman to back away if there is movement behind the bowler from a fielder or a member of the crowd, or will we be able to rely on the honour system? If we do include backing away , will certain bowlers be able to react like Mitchell Johnson by angrily throwing the ball at you and hurling abusive language in your direction, or will this be punishable by the onfield umpire?

 

Part of me feels like we need a dedicated mechanic so bored fielders will not run back and forth to irritate you when you are trying to focus on shot selection.

Bored fieders should be able to shoot members of the opposition.

I have no idea of the real rules of cricket and iam english.

I respectfully disagree. I don't see how you can possibly say that with any certainty considering that you are not a Rockstar employee and I bet you never thought they'd put Yoga in the game either until they did.

 

They are already looking at this and discussing it. Does that mean it WILL happen? No. Does that mean there is a possibility? Yes. The more work we do for the developers here in this thread the easier it will be for them to brainstorm about it and implement it in a way that will be fun and works for everyone.

They would be more likely discussing why this guy with a vulgar name is hurling insults and profanity over and over again about an idea he apparently doesn't care about, serving no purpose other than to stifle legitimate discussion about the ideas.

That is your opinion and it is clearly wrong. Many of the participants in this thread come from cricket playing nations , play cricket, and are passionate about it. There is nothing wrong with likeminded people (Cricket and GTAO fans) having a brainstorming discussion about fitting the concept into the game. I don't see why you can't just leave it be. If you continue to contribute in a rule violating, non productive way I will have no option but to inform a moderator.

Los Santos is based on Los Angeles which is in the United States and in neither LA or the US as a whole is cricket popular. You don't see any suburban "cricket moms" driving their kids to the park to play cricket on Saturday mornings here.

I play cricket, like watching cricket and this is still the dumbest idea ever posted on this forum.

 

Let's put NFL, Baseball, Basketball, Rugby Union, NRL, Soccer, Badmington, Beach volleyball, ice hockey in the game too.

Eh I dunno, every test england was close but they just couldn't handle being dealt with when they had australia on the brink they took their foot off their throats so to speak. at least 2 tests could of gone englands way.

While cricket may not initially seem like this most obvious sport to add, you have to remember this is rockstar. Rockstar is originally a Scottish company and this is a game that had us mopping floors as part of it's single player.

 

How many other sports have former world leaders sculling beers in front of a crowd of people impersonating a legendary commentator:

Misleading. There are loads of teams here, most of them just contain a mix of Indian, West Indian, South African, and Pakistani born players. You clearly are unfamiliar with the subject matter.

Thanks. Its not an idea for everyone but it doesn't need to be insulted and trolled for those of us that do want to discuss it.

Oh ya know what they are like, belittle others so they feel good about themselves or sumtink like that. I don't see them implementing cricket in this game. Though give us a bat to propel the grenades with now that would be cool.

Admiral - Cricket is popular in countries that have, either now or in the past, strong ties to the British empire. The US is not one of those countries so it is not popular here. Since GTA is based on popular American culture that means cricket will not be put in the game. Sorry.

I really think you are not knowledgeable enough about the sport to engage in this discussion properly. Cricket is popular in the USA if you know where to look.

I've not read the whole thread but from reading the last page I get the general drift...apologies if I'm about to repeat points made in previous pages.

 

I see two problems. Firstly, there are more popular sports that would/should be considered before cricket. Secondly, any team sport with more that 2/3 players per team is going to struggle getting enough players in a timely fashion. Sometimes its a struggle to get more than 4 players for a race.

 

I wouldn't mind seeing more sporty stuff in the game but any 'big team' sports will probably never happen.

I was just correcting your two false statements, that the USA does not have connection to the British Empire, and that Cricket is not Popular in the United States. I'm an American and in my city there are multiple leagues with multiple tiers and dozens of teams and many other cities are the same way.
