Add Cricket to GTA Online

Yes, you can get hurt just like how Ballance got a little bit shaken up last night when he took a Mitchell Johnson bouncer to the faceguard.

 

You can also employ sledging that is extra effective when you have a fast bowler in the attack, such as telling people to "Get ready for a broken f*cking arm" as we already discussed earlier.

 

More importantly, the correct use of the short ball and bouncers will disrupt a batsman's concentration and lead to him being more concerned about getting hit than his shot selection and the field placement, inducing very costly errors if his mental fortitude rating is not high enough.

 

Only the strongest (mentally) cricketers in GTA Online will be able to survive a constant barrage of bouncers from a genuine pace bowler and it will be a tactic you can utilize to intimidate junior cricketers or debutants.

 

I have worked out mechanics for all different types of deliveries already, with the exception of the disgraceful Australian underarm bowling to prevent the opposition from getting a single.

 

We will do media commentary events also where we can have superstars like Brett Lee (Whoever his GTAO equal will be) bowling at Piers Morgan. (Whoever his equal is)

I respectfully disagree. It is the second most popular sport in the world and I already know that some people from Rockstar have seen this and are into it . We also have had two professional cricketers post in this thread and endorse the idea. I'm not sure why you are using so many question marks. Not only do I think Rockstar would consider adding cricket, I know that they ARE considering adding cricket. Please read the thread and you will see that we have a complete system here.

The racing game argument? You are a moron. We have garages with customized cars, we drive these customized cars everywhere we go in free roam. Racing fits in with this idea PERFECTLY. There goes your rebuttal.

 

We have an avatar in the game which requires clothing otherwise we would be naked. If we couldn't choose clothing we could look similar, if not identical to everyone else in the game. Clothing fits in perfectly.

 

Yoga is not online.

Yes, we've talked about a number of different clothing, food, and drink items that can be added to this along with the game itself so that spectators can look the part.

 

Cricket fielder hats, traditional Australian hats, striped jackets to show your club allegiance (think MCC), et cetera.

 

Cigarettes, pipes, cigars are going to be an absolute must. Tea , Old Etonian cocktails, Victoria Bitter (Some GTA equal of it), so on and so forth are all going to be an absolute must.

 

We'll also be including spicy Indian finger foods such as samosas. For the Aussies we will be adding chiko rolls and pie floaters.

 

For the English we will be including pastys and other varieties of Indo-British delicacies such as chicken tikka masala pies.

And one of them contacted me in game and talked with me a bit after posting in this thread and it was definitely him , I could tell by the South African accent and his voice is pretty easy to verify. Not sure why you guys have such a problem with that.

Yes, we'll be adding Cricket Bats obviously and you can carry them like a melee weapon for any player that finds himself in an off the pitch brawl. We'll use the same throwing mechanic from throwing the ball to Chop to facilitate throwing cricket balls around.

 

There is no reason there cannot be an element of GTA to this as well - In informal matches it might be hilarious to bowl teargas or grenades at your opponents stumps as was previously discussed in here.

Excellent. At a lower level you can call Alistair to field in the slips but you have a 50 percent chance of a dropped catch. If you get Brad Haddin at a higher level you will have a 99 percent chance of pulling off a heroic acrobatic catch. Obviously we'd need to change names around a bit for license and rights issues but you get the idea.

OP I know your a fan of cricket and your English and all, but Rockstar is not going to put it in GTAO. You just need to make your peace with that. You are, of course, free to fantasize about it but you need to understand that cricket will not be put into the game. Sorry.

Worst thread ever

Do all of you guys think we'll need a mechanic for the batsman to back away if there is movement behind the bowler from a fielder or a member of the crowd, or will we be able to rely on the honour system? If we do include backing away , will certain bowlers be able to react like Mitchell Johnson by angrily throwing the ball at you and hurling abusive language in your direction, or will this be punishable by the onfield umpire?

 

Part of me feels like we need a dedicated mechanic so bored fielders will not run back and forth to irritate you when you are trying to focus on shot selection.
