Add Cricket to GTA Online

Amazing work Admiral!

I know this DLC is just around the corner, but I hope you can antecipate some of the controls of this game! Sometimes I play deathmatchs and I must say that´s kind of boring: L2, R3 up, R2, bang, headshot! Even a monkey can do that! I could practice some Cricket during these sessions.

And I think i´ll try out for Bowler, as right now you can throw balls to Chop (don´t try that on a busy road) and practice some Fast Bowler´s technique.

Awesome to hear you are interested in bowling for the Vinewood cricket club. I'd suggest you practice a bowler's run up and action without actually using a ball for the first couple sessions just to get a solid action and delivery stride down.... Remember, step forward onto your left foot, jump forward, land with your left foot on the line, deliver the ball, and follow through with your right foot and you will be well on your way.

 

I'm trying to think about how we'll be able to have Rockstar code performing a bowling run up into Freeroam of GTA Online because many of us will definitely want to practice this in our apartments, on the street, anywhere really.

 

And for that guy Alan who said this is not happening, I've sent to Rockstar and I know for a fact they read it and enjoyed it. That doesn't mean it is 100 percent coming, but it is looking more and more likely as each day goes on that this will come into GTAO within the next couple months once the beach bum pack, heists, and all the bugs are sorted out they will be focused entirely on adding fun things that fans want, just like this idea.

I'm sorry to disagree with you my friend but you are saying Cricket is not American but Dominoes is? I don't know anyone who plays dominoes outside of Cuban expatriates and people from the west indies and Africa.

And I think you just had an excellent idea: practice at home! We know that a few players don´t like this idea of Cricket in GTAO, and (God forbid if I´m being stereotypical) they tend to be annoying players who like to shoot you or run you over! That would ruin a training session.

 

Just yesterday I bought this amazing apartment (Richards Majestic, 51, if you guys want to know) and it comes with a 10 cars garage! I mean, who´s going to get 10 cars? That´s just silly, there´s no need for that! So, I was thinking to put my Sultan on the street and use that space for Cricket´s training sessions!

 

There´s one problem thou: right now we can´t run on apartments/garage! Next time you contact the R* admins, can you ask them to change that, before the DLC maybe?

I can definitely see this happening because I practice my bowling run up all the time. If I go get a sandwich or drink or go to the bathroom i'm usually rolling my arm over at least once or twice on the way. I could see setting up a wicket in a 10 car garage and using this for small games amongst friends. I'm going to think on this and update soon with a full proposal.

I was in the nets last night with my friends and we were using this really awesome bowling machine so that gave me an idea for GTAO cricket, a mini game where one player bats and the other player shoots balls at them out of a bowler machine and can use various buttons on the control pad to tweak the machine just like you do in real life. If any of you guys like this idea i'll write up a proper proposal for it. Let me know.

I doubt ive met anyone that even knows what happens in a cricket game, outside of a few foreigners ive ran into.

 

There is not a sport that should be added after cricket basically, every other sport should be put into this game first, then if they feel like adding cricket go for it.

What we have come up with so far:

 

An innovative cricket mode for GTA Online that is similar in style to the sports already included in the game. Some mechanics we've already fleshed out for our proposal/petition we'll be sending to rockstar:

 

Batting with a variety of shots, forward defensive, backwards block, hook, pull, cover drive, et cetera by pulling the stick back and timing your swing forward while also holding down a button to designate the type of shot.

 

Bowling similar to golf swing where you pick power , line, and spin and then run up and press X at the right time to avoid an umpire calling you for a no ball

 

Mechanic similar to the strip club touching mechanic where you can tamper with the ball when the umpire isn't looking and if he catches you you get a warning or rated as a bad sport

 

MEchanic borrowed from store robberies where you yell HOWZAT into your microphone to appeal for nicks and LBWS and the umpire actually reacts based off how convincing your appeal is

 

Indian food built in to regenerate stamina during drinks breaks

 

Health damage from bouncers , also a penalty to reaction time.

 

11 fielders, 2 batters play at once as do 3 umpires for the GTA Online total of 16. Other batsmen spectate while they wait and can clap or sledge opposition by pressing various buttons.

 

We have a few more things planned as well in this but this is the game in a nutshell.

 

I'm tired from all this brainstorming but hopefully when the UK people wake up they will have some great ideas to add into this as well.
