The emblem I made for GTAO VinewoodCricketClub just finished processing on the webpage and im wondering if you guys can provide some feedback on the club emblem I came up with or any advice on what needs to be improved if anything, I rather like it and cant wait to see it on the left front chest of a polo shirt

Back on topic now that apologies are out of the way,

 

The emblem I made for GTAO VinewoodCricketClub just finished processing on the webpage and im wondering if you guys can provide some feedback on the club emblem I came up with or any advice on what needs to be improved if anything, I rather like it and cant wait to see it on the left front chest of a polo shirt

It's a good concept, but it does look a little too paint.exe, I'm a dab hand at photoshop and would happily knock up a slightly more proffessional image if you would like. I can't guarantee that it will be speedy, but I can give it a go and I might even make a VWCC signature for the forums while I'm at it.

 

Also, can I be second batsman? I'm also not a bad fast bowler.

Of course you can be the second batsman.

 

I bowl medium fast usually but I can also offspin, but it's the offspin that hurt my ankle this morning when I tried to to a side on runup and pivot.

 

If you can make an emblem or anything that would be awesome, take your time with it and enjoy it! I'm not much of an artist at all so it was just an effort to make something.

I'm a bad opener i'm going to bat at like #9 when we have a full crew but until then i'll open the batting , i'm usually out for 20 or 30. rofl

I don't see why not? We don't shoot cops in the head either but we do that in GTA. It's just a fantasy game and it would be fun so we shouldn't let realism get in the way. Tennis isn't exactly popular either

lol ask anyone in america if they know what tennis is. 100% of the time they'll answer yes. Most people don't know wtf cricket is. Maybe it should be in a gta game themed outside of America but I think it has no place in an American based game. There are middle/high schools involved with coaching/playing tennis. Trust me, tennis has a much bigger fan base than cricket in America. I'm not even a tennis fan but I'm calling it how it is. I've rather have football, baseball, basketball, lol swimming, lol track, before cricket.

But you dont factor in how much the world is following cricket in a game set in modern L.A. It just wouldn't fit. Most people who dont watch tennis, know who rodger fedderor, Jokavich, & other tennis players are. No one really knows sh*t about cricket because there is barely any cricket influence in America. People wouldn't know how to play. Thats why they add sports everyone knows. 85% of Americans would try it 1 time & never play it again. Tennis on gta is fun. It gets pretty intense when I play my friends. Point is, I NEVER see cricket being added unless the game is set in another country. Espically if they add baseball. If they ever add baseball, just forget about it lol

Basketball, football, baseball, hockey, soccer...they all have their own annual video game released by a major developer...does cricket? No...so right there's your answer on popularity. R* isn't stupid, they will release all of them sports one by one before even considering cricket, and once cricket is even considered they will laugh and say f*ck no, then move on.

Everyone knows who Derek Jeter is. Everyone knows who Michel Phelps is. Everyone knows who Tiger Woods is. Everyone knows who Wayne Gretzky is. Everyone knows who Muhammad Ali is. Everyone knows who Anderson Silva is. Everyone knows who Jeff Gordon. Hell everyone knows who Hulk Hogan is. ANY common American doesn't know the name of any cricket player. Cricket has no place in American professional sports. It never will. Go move to England. Im having a good time playing tennis & golf right now on gta right now hehehe ;)

I'm happy for you but this thread is about adding cricket to GTA online, "Og-Dallas" so lets please keep it on topic if possible I don't really care to argue with you, if you don't like cricket you don't like it, case closed.

 

I for one think it would be perfect for GTA Online and I know for a fact that Rockstar has read this because that one guy said he has contacts at rockstar and would tell them about it so i'm not worried

Compton Cricket Club was born at the Dome Village Homeless Community in Downtown Los Angeles in 1995, by US Homeless activist Ted Hayes and Hollywood Movie Producer Katy Haber,[3] to combat the negative effects of poverty and homelessness. After a highly successful tour of Great Britain later that year, the LA Krickets expanded the team to include inner city Latino gang members from the City of Compton. The Compton Homies and the Popz (Compton Cricket Club) emerged in 1996 as the first All American Inner City Cricket Team. The club uses the ideals of sportsmanship, and the particular importance of etiquette and fair play in cricket, to help players develop respect for authority, a sense of self-esteem and self-discipline. The Compton Homies travelled to the UK in 1997, 1999, and 2001, joined LASCA (the Los Angeles Social Cricket Alliance) and won the British Cup twice.

The 'Homies' mission is to:

1. Curb the negative effects of gang activities amongst the youth of Compton.

2. Addressing homelessness in the inner city through the principles and ethics of cricket.

3. Encourage and promote civility, good and productive citizenship.

The team motto of 'Let the game begin again in America' harkens back to the former popularity of cricket in the United States during the 19th century.

The majority of the team is formed of the founding members and Hayes sees them as a "cross-generational village-like team".

Seems a lot more appropriate than yoga for a game based on crime in L.A. Hell, that last image is a mural dedicated to two of the members who have died, one of them in a drive-by shooting.
