Add Cricket to GTA Online

If any rockstar admins are reading Can we please? It would make a lot more sense than tennis bc only French people and Spaniards play it

 

 

What we have come up with so far:

 

An innovative cricket mode for GTA Online that is similar in style to the sports already included in the game. Some mechanics we've already fleshed out for our proposal/petition we'll be sending to rockstar:

 

Batting with a variety of shots, forward defensive, backwards block, hook, pull, cover drive, et cetera by pulling the stick back and timing your swing forward while also holding down a button to designate the type of shot.

 

Bowling similar to golf swing where you pick power , line, and spin and then run up and press X at the right time to avoid an umpire calling you for a no ball

 

Mechanic similar to the strip club touching mechanic where you can tamper with the ball when the umpire isn't looking and if he catches you you get a warning or rated as a bad sport

 

MEchanic borrowed from store robberies where you yell HOWZAT into your microphone to appeal for nicks and LBWS and the umpire actually reacts based off how convincing your appeal is

 

Indian food built in to regenerate stamina during drinks breaks

 

Health damage from bouncers , also a penalty to reaction time.

 

11 fielders, 2 batters play at once as do 3 umpires for the GTA Online total of 16. Other batsmen spectate while they wait and can clap or sledge opposition by pressing various buttons.

 

We have a few more things planned as well in this but this is the game in a nutshell.

 

I'm tired from all this brainstorming but hopefully when the UK people wake up they will have some great ideas to add into this as well.

I don't see why not? We don't shoot cops in the head either but we do that in GTA. It's just a fantasy game and it would be fun so we shouldn't let realism get in the way. Tennis isn't exactly popular either

It's additional content to extend the game, why do people hate that? if you dont want to play it, dont. It doesnt effect you. you're not being forced at gunpoint to play it.

It's no worse than many other sports.

 

But I have to agree, a Los Angeles themed game and then you put in Cricket - WTF - that would make no sense at all.

Also guys tennis is only for two people in cricket you can have 11 fielding and 2 batting so that's 13 + an umpire, leg umpire and match official so its exactly 16 just like GTA Online. So I really think this is a perfect fit and it would be rather simple to design too

Because if Rockstar thought people liked the idea, they might make it, instead of something else that would be more popular.

The trouble is I can't think of anyone who would want to be fielding. Most of the time you're just standing there hoping the ball comes your way. - and then in GTA it'd probably be "press X to catch". If it was in there, you'd want it to be more like a practice - one batsman one bowler possibly up to two fielders (close range so they get enough of the action).

I would love to field in GTA Online because you have a headset on and can rattle the batter with comments I think most people would agree

I'm from NZ, we love cricket, but I still think it's weird as hell putting it in a game based in Los Angeles. Surely baseball or football would come before that.

I'd like to see some kind of surfing added. Would be a fun activity. Give people the option to use either Sixaxis control or the sticks to balance. Tricks might be difficult to implement, though, so they're not necessary. Can rent or buy boards/sails from a shop on the beach.

Actually that's a pretty good idea.

But the waves are a bit weak in LS :S
