DBZMUSICBOY01
CJ been thru so much drama in SA and been betrayed by his close friends. He's an orphan and he's very tough and honest. Franklin is cool but he only really cares about the money and only went to see Michael for that same reason. I put my trust in CJ more. PlasmaFLOW
You can't repo the assets of a dead man, bitch sitting cheap asshole. Dunno but that quote just made me choose Franklin... plus his repetitiveness of the terms "nigga" "homie" and the scene where he says WHAA'? with Simeon is just Great! 73duster
Franklin is more mature, and but he's also a bit more materialistic. CJ is a straight up gangster. I see Franklin as what CJ would become AFTER San Andreas. Growing up, and viewing the gangster life as a dead end kid's game.
Theodore93
CJ wasn't an orphan.
Thebull94
The reason people prefer CJ is likely due to nostalgia. The reason CJ failed in general as a character to me (I still liked him, however I recognise that it is due to the effects of nostalgia) is because he moans about killing people, living the thug life then goes on rampages etc. I hate GTA characters like that which is probably why I prefer Franklin. He might not be psychotic but he still knows what he wants (hes "tryna make some paper and not get killed") whereas CJ, Louis (and other weak GTA characters) did not. Probably why Tommy Vercetti was my favourite GTA character. He just did not give a f*ck as long as profit was involved. Trevor he doesnt give a f*ck for the sake of not giving a f*ck. Its cool and all but not practical.
ASIAN LAWYER
cj is an asolute sh*t character. "oh, and i suppose you know what a hooker look like?" "you say that like it's a bad thing" tasteless joke. and the problem with the "tragic" death of his mother is that it bares no mark on him, he doesn't grow or anything. the characters around cj were the stars of the show. ASIAN LAWYER
Trevor he doesnt give a f*ck for the sake of not giving a f*ck. Its cool and all but not practical.there's no real "for the sake of it" with trev. he doesn't give a f*ck because he psychologically can't give a f*ck. trevor ticks all the boxes of a sociopath. stockwiz
He's a bit of a whiner, though I guess it's understandable after Torino makes him fly a military jet around destroying other military jets and ships (just did that mission yesterday) He whined about other crap though throughout the game too. Sweet is even more of a whiner, always worred about his stupid hood.. I just tore through all the gang territories at end game and turned them all green for my own personal enjoyment. CJ did not grow, true... yeah he left the 'hood' and got some cash but still the same old person. On another note, I forgot just how many houses with garages could be bought in that game. More than I need for sure. It was nice. Edited October 7, 2013 by stockwiz

rixsta
I think what makes Franklin a better character, then even Michael is simple. As it was mentioned above, Franklin knows that he has to be in his "gang" to try and better himself, to try and give himself a stand, a chance. He doesn't want to kill people, he just wants to work to earn his way to the top. Luckily he gets that "Lucky break" that he can make the move and become the man he believed in himself that he knew he was.

Eagleheart
Franklin is the more realistic character imo but some of CJ's quotes still make me lmao.
