Which games producer on earth thinks that deleting customer characters is a "normal thing" that can be remedied with sorrys. Are you farking serious! Because of the long term playability and freedom.

 

I loved The Last of Us more than GTAV - but I only got one weekend from it, it's GTAV that I will be playing years from now, for $US60 it was a bargin and Rockstar is as fast as they can to fix the network/server issues - the improvements in the first 48 hours were immense - now it's data loss issues with some players although I personally have not experienced it - neither have most of the people I know with the game (at least on XBL).

 

Of course if this happens long term, I'll be complaining, but considering how much gameplay I will get from the title and for what I paid - it's epic enough that I can be a little patient/tolerant while the online system settles down.

 

I had servers not available, sure, I tried again in a few minutes and it worked fine.

I think GTA V is a masterpiece. I think it's a work of absolute art of the highest order. The amount of work and talent that has gone into this game is astounding. The fastest piece of entertainment to a billion dollars in history. Pretty impressive. There's nothing "fail" about this game.

 

The fact any of us can play this game online together at all is an amazing achievement considering the sheer enormity of the server load since day one. I keep seeing complainers on here making out like them not being able to log on for half an hour or losing a car they modified or having a character deleted (which, I can sort of understand that being frustrating, but not world ending) is the end of the world.

 

The reality is, this game on ALL levels is an incredible accomplishment and the fact that we are fortunate enough to live in a Country where we have all of the electronics and infrastructure and technology and disposable time and resources to devote countless hours of time playing it is something to be thankful for - not angry about. People that complain so hard about it seem to me to be among the sorriest sack of self-important priveliged entitled crybaby losers I've ever encountered.

 

Maybe it's because I'm old and grew up with gaming and watched it evolve from infancy to today and I'm constantly amazed. Playing Doom2 on BBS was way more difficult to get working than this. Same with Quake and pretty much all PC games. Having to patch games has been around for decades. It's not new, and it certainly doesn't mean the game isn't finished. Also, for Rockstar to come out with a patch so quickly is pretty remarkable and shows they are on top of their sh**.

 

Or maybe it's just that I've been fortunate enough to only have minor issues with GTAO, and most of them have stemmed from unpleasant interactions with other players (and many of the players in this community are just as awful as the OP sounds here). I've had a few random glitches here and there and connection trouble, but I've been able to play more than not and the playing I have done is fun as knobs.

 

Maybe you should ask your mom to take the game back to the store and buy you and educational toy instead.
