Tons of high level characters seem untouched

My initial 39 char was in slot 1.

 

Once i realized the cloud was down today, i decided to open up slot 2.

 

Everyone warns, DONT MAKE A NEW GUY.

 

When i logged into a session i see all these lvl 58 and 49 and mid 30s everywhere.

 

Why aren't their characters getting jacked?

im untouched because one I save properly and 2 I never get the chance to create a new character in a cloud outage unless its a temp...

M-my character w-was *wipes tear* ..t-touched but he wasn't high level. That's t-the worst part *sob* he was only a little rank 6! Who could do such a thing i ask you?!

I'm 34 and still standing and I hope it remains that. You have to sympathize with everyone experiencing these issues especially if you've spent so much time trying to get so far.

Don't just power your system off, and don't dashboard. There. Fixed all the "deleted" characters.

Yeah it doesn't get much worse that losing your character, especially in an RPG with clothing and customization of everything. Frankly, it's a punch in the gut that only gets worse with the Rank obviously.

ur character isn't deleted just don't make a new one. The servers go out n come back on.

My level 19 slot 1 got deleted, FULL DELETED, I never played while cloud was down and he disappeared without a trace.

Same with my level 11, so yeah the cloud gets everyone

Not fixed. Didnt play when cloud was down on my slot2, and i always go to single player first now. My slot 1 was likely corrupted after a loading freeze required me to force shut off, but my slot 2 was saved properly. I didnt even exit the game, just went to get some food, and left SP running. Came back and it was gone. Never came back.

 

So please, don't be ignorant. I'm glad you're doing fine, but just because we aren't doesn't mean we aren't "playing properly" such a douche move.

They came on and my character didn't come back.

FYI OP, if your Slot 2 successfully saves, then your character is gone for good. Means you're connected to the servers, but there's no data.

 

Also, apparently its entirely your fault, so go think about what you've done.

Ah ok thanks I'm one of the few of my friends who hasn't had many problems since getting past the race, this is the first time I've been unable to get online. usually when the "servers are down" message appears it says press X to retry then it works but I don't get that option this time.

I know it's not those particular players fault but tbh it's not fair how selective and corrupt the cloud servers are. R* need to hurry up and fix this issue, they've had enough time as it is.

To those saying you're not saving properly and not to dashboard or power off your system without exiting the game know nothing and are kidding you're self , its got nothing to do with that at all your characters are not safe , here I have two different accounts on the same console and I wasn't playing any of them when they had the server issues yesterday , but read about it on the forums so decided to check social club,

 

My first character is fine and and my second on the other account got deleted yesterday so it's random, one survived and one didn't , and no I haven't made a new character on the second account I'm still waiting to see if they can recover it but I think it's highly unlikely
