Socialclub no avatar query?

This isn't a bitchy thread I'm just looking for some clarity. Is the general consensus here if your avatar next to the main protagonists is blank and shows no playtime/money you've unequivocally lost your character?

 

Just wondering as I have no intention of reinvesting that time if so; just a shame as the game had a lot of potential.

Im also curious, also has anyone actually lost and had returned their character specifically on Social.

After my 4th character at lvl 20+ I will describe the screw-up of this problem.

 

Your character will be removed from the Cloud Servers in the game, you will then notice on the Social Club that your characters pic has vanished to a black outline, then start to notice your stats have vanished along with that shortly afterwards (money collected may or may not still survive on your account.) We do not know yet if Online Characters will return but R* are looking into it and how to compensate on losses, the latest notice was 1 hour ago. http://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200435267-Loss-of-characters-rank-items-apartments-and-or-in-game-money-in-GTA-Online

 

I myself think because its the Cloud Servers making these disappearances its a bug in the Social Club, but I may be wrong, either way its a priority for R* now but they should have thought about this for the 2.0 Update.

But it has happened. To loads of people loads of times. I myself am hoping when I log on in the morning my character will be back and ready to go, but I was hoping that'd happen with my other characters too and they're long gone.

 

Bit of a monumental f*ck up then. Not sure where to go with it, with work and other commitments I don't fancy grinding back to the level I got to. Really sucks the fun out of 'playing' the game.

Social club has never shown a pic of my avatar. Always a black outline.

 

I'm on my 3rd char at the moment. Stats are usually quite up to date or catch up shortly afterwards. My other characters were lost before they turned on the GTAO stats in SC though.
