To Those Who Kill In Freemode

Isn't it called FREE mode because your FREE to do what you want? I get irritated when someone kills me for no reason in FREE mode some times too, but I know I'm taking a risk by playing in a public FREE mode. If this upsets you that much just do solo sessions.

FREE has 2 meanings. It means you are free to be a douchebag. It also means I am free to do what I want, without having to constantly watch my back for said douchebags.

 

How do I know this? The presence of bad sport and it`s intended goal - to keep said douchebags away of the "general population".

Yesterday I had a 12 year old babbling on his mic. There comes my Lazer and his car goes boom. Haha, he flamed so hard it was already worth it. It's just the fun when you know the people will always loose their money.

I won't even lie, I've killed a few dudes in free roam, but I don't get over-excessive and it's usually because the player's been killing others and I feel like giving him a taste of his own medicine.

 

Excessive killing isn't a positive but killing from time to time was and is expected. You won't be put as a bad sport if you don't do it excessively.

 

Who gives a f*ck about $2,000 or $3,000 for hospital bills?

There's solo mode, and invite only mode for a reason. It's for the mature adults who want to do their own thing without some troglodyte killing them 20 times in one session.

Man, John Locke would have a field day with some of you guys. You kill in free roam because "it's fun" or because these reactions make it worthwhile? Human nature sure rears its ugly head quick when you add a little anonymity and no consequences.

 

When I was playing last night, I took a car to Simeon's dock to sell. While there, I could see that someone had grabbed the "high-demand vehicle" or whatever its called, so I knew they'd soon be making their way to the docks as well. So what did I do? I waited until they made that turn, pulled out my SMG and unloaded on them. I took the car and turned it in myself for a cool $9k.

 

In my mind, I did nothing wrong here. Someone else was going to gain if he completed his task; I could gain if I killed him and completed it myself. That guy knew he would be at higher risk if he decided to go after the "high-demand vehicle." We both made a conscious choice to go after something of value.

 

Stalking me around the entire map just because we happened to drive by each other once is a just plain dick move. I was just minding my own business--going to pick up some new clothes, or heading to a mission start, or meeting up with a friend. You gain practically nothing from trying to kill me except fulfilling some kind of sick, Joker-esque chaos requirement you think exists because, "What did you expect? It's GTA."

 

Kill me a million times if I've got something you want. But don't be an asshole about it just because your 13-year-old mind thinks it's fun to make me pay hospital bills.

I just find it funny when people get upset over it.. I lost my Level 30 character last night, but it's just a game. It's funny as hell when people get overly pissed off at games because someone kills them.

Hell I even kill my own buddies sometimes.

Yesterday (before my character was lost into oblivion), my mate was robbing a shop, so I jumped in his car which was parked right outside, and blocked the door with it. Trust me, do this to people, you will have a laugh as they try to escape while the police flow in.

GTA Free Modes are kill or be killed time... I regreted beeing a nice guy a few times now. Although as I am playing with free aim only, it minimizes the risk of beeing randomly shot a lot. Seems like most of the bully prefer auto aim option caus they can at least kill somebody.

I only got killed one time when it really pissed me off, I was robbing a store, somebody joined, I thought alright, spare the money who gives a sh*t but then got knocked out from behind while aiming at the shop owner. I still LOL'd over the idea, although I instantly f*cked up his getaway car after respawn and whopped his ass in a 1-on-1 DM.

Sicne the payback option is given, I really don't care too much of who bullies and who not. I find it hard to trust somebody else than my friendslist or crew though, so I always be prepared to aim at a random dude nearby, and since auto aim isn't on, he will take a while to kill me before I can kill him.

 

Besides that, if I can make a group vehicle explode like one guy here was talking ab out the chopper, I def. would have done the same thing. It's all about the LULz!!!

 

But generally, if you are nice to me, I am nice to you. Aim at me or catch me guard down, excpect to regret it in the near future. If the guy seems to unimportant to waste my time hunting, hell, I can even let my crew get midevil on his ass and keep on doin what I was doin...

Hey, I'm sure I'd find it pretty funny in a game. It's a game. It isn't real life.

And actually my friend that I did it to found it funny as well. I don't see why I would buy a Grand Theft Auto game to simply be Mr Mature and not cause mayhem.

However saying that, I think I've shot someone once without an incentive, only once. But the funniest people to kill would be the ones who cry about it because they're too mature to play a game about killing and stealing.

I don't see the point in being mature while playing a game, that's what real life is for.

For what it's worth, I kill people sometimes Online (not always, if I'm zooming by fast or if I don't feel like stopping for it), but if I randomly encounter another player by surprise, I'll absolutely shoot because as a long-time Day Z player, I've learned to never trust randoms. Ever.

 

Source: Yesterday before my character got deleted a random came out of the strip club. I did not shoot, walked away. He shot me.

I've said this a million times. Go look at where the games are that had no moderation like that such as D2 and Torchlight 2. The game will simple not last. Games like WoW last forever because of heavy patching, fixing and moderating.

 

There needs to be f*cking rules and the rules in place are more than fair. Players will whine about anything I swear. Bad sport puts you with other bad sports. How in gods name do you have a beef with that?

They need a "Friendly" session with PvP mostly disabled, like Red Dead had. I see both sides of the coin, yes it can be fun to get the drop on someone. I've killed, only in self-defence, but I got the rush from it. That being said, it's not something I've gone out to do on purpose. But there really ought to be a mode for people who do just want to do the other activities or explore the open-world, but who may not have Friends for a session or a Crew-only thing. I mostly play solo sessions now just because I wanna play for my enjoyment sometimes without being the payoff (kill off) for someone else's all day.

There's no benefits to killing in Freemode, even for trolls. There's usually only negative effects to the player who was killed, and actually, negative effects to the killer.

Max xp you gain per kill: 100 (I don't even know the minimum because I haven't killed in Freemode, see no reason to)

Sure, maybe this is how you rob a person, I don't see you getting 10k, and even if you use this tactic to farm for cash, your skills stay ultimately sh*tty.

Wasted ammo

Chance to waste extra ammo

Chance to damage or total person vehicle

 

Victim effects:

Pay Hospital bill

 

 

 

There's no scoreboard so you can gloat, either. So I seriously don't see the point in it. It seems entirely more logical to go back to GTA4 and kill people in Freeroam than here. And no, I've actually never been killed in free roam, shot, yes, but I've never paid any Hospital Bills.

You cap then for one reason... If you dont do it to them, they will cap you instead! Though, I have not been killed by another player oddly enough. Its been so easy to avoid.
